Staff could do wi smiling and stop eating the jelly babies as the jelly baby pitcher is advertised that it comes with jelly babies in but none was available yesterday 😡 apart from that it was spit on. The sharers are good value 😀

User

Lovely food, brilliant service. Defo be back

User

I'm here a few times a week and the staff are so friendly ... do anything to accommodate you ... food is lush and such a good price .... don't even get me started of the cocktail promo .... FAB xx

Great little pub! We started in the beer garden which was perfect on a hot day! When it got cold we moved inside to the room at the back, which was so cozy and had a real log fire!!

The staff are lovely, they could do with a few more working to make the queues shorter but they do well with what they have.

The food is great, typical pub grub, but cooked perfectly! Some great deals too. We took advantage of the mixed grill & a pint for £9.99.. the kids meals are good value for money too!

But for me, the two things which made it perfect were... 2-4-1 desserts (I recommend the chocolate fudge cake, with custard!) and the 2-4-1 cocktails which were so strong!!

Would definitely return and recommend! Well done the chesters

User

First time ive been here in years. The food was lovely had a big chicken and bacon salad. The staff were so helpful and friendly the place was clean and very inviting. A little dark inside but will definitely be back

User

Been twice in the past few days and both times were excellent! Food was lovely and hot which makes a change from usual pub food, took my 8 year old both times and we cannot fault it! Food, drinks and staff were superb! Keep up the good work chesters!!

User

Been here a few time for drinks or food can't fault it, staff is really friendly and helpful and the food is really nice and at great prices definitely recommend.

User

1st time in there for years and what a change welcomed me.. food was good and no long waiting plus it was piping hot.

Will definitely be going back soon.

User

Staff were friendly. Comfortable enough but only called in for a quick drink so was not there long enough to really form a strong opinion. It's well located for access to the town but if you're drinking wine and you intend to have more than one glass, you're better off buying the bottles. Bottles of wine for less than £11. Large glass is £5.60. You have to pay to park but part of your parking ticket is a voucher for the cost of the parking, off your drinks - in other words, if your a patron, parking is in fact free.

User

Ordered a gin n slim and the bar man pored the lot in without asking drowned the gin as for some reason slimline tonic is always a huge bottle! Staff should give it to you or have they been told to do this to make you buy more?!!!

User

Nice pub but the food is poor

User

Meals or ok but when you are with good company even better

User

It's ok usually but last night food was just mush on the plate gut behind bar wasn't in good mood either.

User

Came here tonight with a few friends and our 1 year olds as heard it is a lovely ‘family’ pub. Food was ok, not brilliant but better than your average pub food. Prices were more than reasonable too. However the behaviour of one member of your staff was disgusting. You’ll know exactly who he is as other members of your staff were mortified at his behaviour too. Not only did he bite our heads off when HE brought wrong food to us 3 times, during our whole visit he was shouting stamping and stomping around the place practically throwing peoples plates on their table which other customers also commented on. But what really got me fuming is the fact we hadn’t even finished getting our kids ready to leave never mind tidy up after ourselves before this person shouts ‘il clean up after yous shall I’ and started slamming the high chairs around scaring our babies. I will never return to your establishment while this person works there as I don’t believe a human being who thinks it’s ok to raise their voice and throw things around in front of children in a ‘family’ pub is acceptable nor should he work for anything in general public as he clearly lacks human interaction skills. Now I’m not a one to shy away from confrontation nor do I ever leave bad reviews but when we have upset babies due to your staffs behaviour the best thing is to leave immediately. Also we wanted to catch the puffing billy. Priorities and all that. The rest of your staff were amazing and as previously pointed out were also embarrassed by this individuals behaviour as one of them had even apologised when we first arrived and he was shouting ‘for goodness sake’ at a customer. I’d like to think he’s had an off day and maybe just needs his leg over but this is what il be remembering about my visit which of course I will tell to all my female friends and we all know women love to talk about bad experiences.

I will give 2 stars as we didn’t HATE it but we certainly didn’t enjoy it. Maybe tomorrow when I’m less upset about the whole thing coz us women like to overreact in the moment I may change it to 3 stars but I feel like I’m betraying myself not giving you 1 so it’s probably unlikely

Been today with my partner and it was an absolute tip inside, not very clean and plates everywhere. The man serving at the bar practically flung my boyfriends change at him which was rude, didn't smile or say hello, please or thank you. Ordered a mixed grill and it was practically cremated, I asked for medium well. I told the waitress I couldn't eat it and she just took my plate away, didn't seem too fussed. Won't be returning

User

Very disappointed, 3 meals ordered, two of which were lasagne. One lasagne half the portion of the other and burn't, had to send back. When I complained the waitress said "oh I like mine burn't but I suppose everyone's different". So two people ate whilst the other one watched and had nearly finished by the time new meal arrived. Dirty lipstick marked pint glass. Lovely building, shame about the service. Must have heard the staff say "Sorry about that" more than 10 times to various people

User

Terrible. Watered down drinks. Ordered a double vodka and red bull and they don't even give you the can they only pour half in and put the can back in the fridge. So my first one I got the red bull from an already opend can and it was flat as a fart. Absolutely shocking don't know how long it had been sat there

User

Popped in to enjoy the warm weather as we were passing, bar not busy considering it was saturday. 5 staff behind the bar and still took 10 mins to get served as they were too busy having a laugh between themselves and what I guess were regulars. Not impressed in the slightest at customer service , god knows what it would have been like if there was more than five ppl waiting to be served. Disappointed to say the least. Need to have a word with bar staff.
