A friendly quiet pub with three real ale pumps. There's a plethora of pie choices on the menu, with the usual mushy/peas, mash or chips options. I can honestly say that was one of the best pies I've ever had. Highly recommended.

Fabulous find!! Owners are very welcoming the food is amazing especially the pies. A must try pub.. shame they don;t do them to take away...

Lovely friendly staff. Delicious pies and lots to choose from in varying sizes (other options of food too like moussaka). Very accomodating if sold out of certain produce. Nice and cosy place and if you are in luck, chance to have a go at the quiz and get more tasty food only for a small entry fee per person. Even puddings sounded great. If only I had the room!

What a welcome! This is a really gem of a pub! The hospitality is second to none, the food exceptional & hearty, & the drinks all served with a smile. What more could we ask for as our local? Thank you to a great team! x

An amazing find and worth the drive through the country roads to get to. A lovely pub with a friendly owner and staff, a place we're locals gather and chat with everyone.
A lot of pubs have 'pies' on their menu that are basically just glorified stews with a pastry hat, and this pub restored my faith in the pub food community! Bit dramatic I know but it was amazing.
I had the rabbit and black pudding pie, which was rich, tender and delicious, and then discovered it is indeed homemade, using very locally sourced ingredients. Just brilliant and at a great price. Thoroughly recommend this pub for atmosphere, good ale, fantastic food and quality friendly Yorkshire hospitality.

Nice little pub despite the faded decor. The fireplace is a nice touch that gives the place a homely feel.

Had the beef, mushroom and Guinness pie for lunch on a Sunday. The meal was absolutely amazing. The pie was freshly made so it took a little while to arrive but was eventually brought out by the chef.

When it arrived the pie was a lot bigger than expected and was almost more than I could handle. The pastry was great - not too try and crumbly, perfectly baked. The filling was tasty too and the pie was definitely filled to capacity.

On the plate was also an assortment of vegetables - cauliflower, carrots, runner beans, broccoli. Also there was a choice of chunky chips or mashed potatoes.

A change of ownership and the pies have returned and already proving to be very popular !

The landlord has moved on and the pies are no longer available. My sister took her family and had a truly dreadful meal. Gets 2 stars only because the beer was good.

Nice friendly local pub which serves a good meal well worth a visit.
