Childbirth Essentials Description
We are experienced midwives who have worked closely with the Royal College of Midwives over a period of thirteen years while conducting research on a programme of massage for pain relief in labour. During this time we won an RCM award for putting the Massage Programme into practice. ‘Turning vision to reality’ Normalising childbirth
Childbirth Essentials is an organisation which focuses on researching specific massage techniques for relaxation in the last month of pregnancy, pain relief in labour and the initiation of maternal-infant attachment.
There are classes for couples from 36 weeks pregnancy to learn specific massage techniques linking in with breathing control and giving the partner an active role.
Courses are also available for midwives and health professionals promoting normality within their practice

... 2018 - More wonderful varied experiences in Hong Kong, Taiwan and China – Although I go and share the Evidenced Based Programme with the midwives in all these places I also learn so much from them – so it is a mutual sharing and enriching experience for me.
