Childhood Cancer Parents Alliance

About Childhood Cancer Parents Alliance

The Childhood Cancer Parents Alliance (CCPA) provides support, encouragement and advice to families whose children have a cancer diagnosis: both during and after treatment. CCPA supports the whole family, children, siblings, parents, grandparents: offering advice, information and practical help. We offer listening ear or more practical advice on topics such as benefits, medical aids or taking an ill child on holiday. We organise days out and meet up sessions which are a vital way of families supporting each other and sharing experiences. Families feel ‘normal' and can enjoy everyday activities which will have a lasting impact that will help them through some very tough times. Childhood cancer can put a massive strain on family budgets and can cost an extra £600 a month. That's why all CCPA's activities and support are FREE to the families we work with. We are also a national representative voice, working with local, regional, national and international agencies. We promote awareness, support, research and advocacy that focuses fully on the best interests of children, teenagers, young adults and their families. Together with over 30 member organisations we are building a bright future for all families in the UK affected by childhood or adolescent cancer. Through this network of member groups, we share knowledge and best practice and represent family views on issues of service provision, research and care.
