About Children'S Respite Trust

The Children's Respite Trust is a registered charity that provides respite for children with disabilities and support for their families. Respite takes many forms. For most of our children our charity work means regular support at home from a Children's Respite Trust Carer. For others it involves attending a regular activity and for some it might be a week in a private respite centre that we have organised. Either way, it means that families can get a much-needed break from the strain of caring for a disabled child 24 hours a day. The charity operates largely in Sussex, Kent and the city of Brighton and Hove. Furthermore, the Trust aims to provide day care at its new Centre in Uckfield, East Sussex, from Summer 2018. The centre will mean that children will be able to come and enjoy supervised playtime during weekends and school holidays, while their families can get a much-needed break knowing that they're children are getting the best possible care.
