Chiltern Music Academy Description

What is different about CMA?

The CMA seeks to make music accessible to all:
Geographically: across the whole of Wycombe and the surrounding areas
Academically: across a range of abilities and disabilities
Financially: keeping membership fees low and offering bursaries where possible
Independent of bureaucracy, we are here to stay regardless of government cuts and are free to explore new initiatives in music making
The CMA is a community creation which involves parents and students in its governance and management
We have a Student Development Programme, beginning in Key Stage 1
Our experienced staff are developing a unique provision for Visually Impaired students with the support of the RNIB
Senior students will be involved in mentoring and in governance through a student council
We are creating a range of performance opportunities, from the informal to the inspirational, to take the fear out of performing and replace it with the thrill of bringing music to an audience
The CMA has strong links with notable external bodies who will work with us to extend our best players and singers
