Through the ‘lifecyle' of a home - acquiring, moving in, managing, decorating and developing it, and eventually moving out - our homes create a complex footprint of private, public and commercial information. Much of this is now turning digital. In this first digital age, these data sets are being created ‘around' the homeowner by a variety of third parties (business, govt. and non-govt bodies etc). Very little is accessible or usable by the homeowner. None is being created in a way that enables a homeowner to collate it and create a usable, accessible record to be passed on with sale. The Chimni platform is a standard, open, web-based consumer tool to help householders make sense of and record all the online and digital data being created about and around their most important ever investment. A Chimni log includes a logbook, dashboard and secure cloud store for the home. It provides templated project management tools and document storage for all key activities a homeowner may need to record. Following the freemium model, the core platform is free to use (in basic form) for householders. While the core services are free, the Chimni platform will enable and support an array of revenue generating services being built either by us, or connected to third parties by API. The Chimni platform is open to third party organisations (eg housebuilders, estate agents, utilities) to use to support and enhance their own offerings. Chimni also includes social media tools for residents to create communities, residents associations and other house related amenity groups – Chimni is the Facebook of homes but with a secure data, record storage facility.
