Went here last night with my son and daughter for my son's 21st on what must be one of the worst snow storms in recent history. Whilst most places had closed early chiquito's was still open, there only appeared to be 2 staff members working, one in the kitchen and one waiting but they both did an outstanding job. The food was excellent and piping hot and the service was spot on despite the waiter being on his own. Both of my children thoroughly enjoyed the food and cocktails.

Very accommodating.... Special thanks to John who is amazing and is definitely the host with the most!! Cocktails and nachos filled us up and then the mains came out!! No room left for dessert but they boxed it up anyway!! Made a cold night very pleasant.... Would go back just to see happy John again ��

The food was fantastic and the service was very good friendly staff and place was great, visited Monday lunch time but will be going back

Nice relaxing meal at Durham. Lovely staff on duty. We haven't been to a Chiquito for a while but today has encouraged us to come back at some point.

Hi, I took my 2 children who are fussy eaters to Chiquitos in Durham walker gate on the 11/05/17 and we were welcome by a lady called Alice, she was extremely helpful and recommended a dish as we had never dined here before. The food was delicious, service was top class. The children very rarely like any where I take them for food and we have been to a vast range of restaurants, however they loved this one and we will be coming back again, thanks for the great food and service, Reuben Powell.

Great night. Good company. Excellent service from Matt and Jamie. Superb food by chef Jonathon. Cocktails to die for. Will be visiting again soon.

Food amazing can’t move thanks to chef John (Bruno), Jamie is brill at his cocktails � and well Matt the manager you are awesome �. Great customer service, food and atmosphere. Will be back again soon �

Unfortunately my main meal arrived cold but give them credit they cared enough to redo me another meal and reduced our bill at the end. Just a shame that we ate separately because of cold food that arrived.

I came in on my own tonight, as working away from home and was greeted with great service, friendly staff and lovely food, I was even able to swop tacos for slaw, no questions asked. Well done and thank you.

First time I've been and it was lovely. The staff were great to . Would recommend it know problem.

Went for a meal last night, staff were lovely and friendly especially the man who seated us (red patterned shirt and beard no badge) couldn’t fault the service. Only negative was that where we were sat we could see the kitchen and the two kids burgers were sat under the lights for a good 10mins before theywas brought out, the burgers were hard and dry and the kids left most of them.

I was looking foraard to coming here and did enjoy the food. My bill came to £50.15 for a meal for two with a drink each and I also left a £5 tip. While here I also "Checked in" myself and my partner.



The reason for the 3* review is that we were then chased into the outdoor complex by the manager who was shouting after us that we had not paid our bill. Not only is this untrue but quite embarrassing to have shouted at you in public when the cash was left on the table.



Also if I was going to do a runner perhaps I wouldn't have checked myself in first? The manager then asked if the money was on the table. In future checking the table should come first before a public humiliation.



Would love to hear thoughts on this

Food is good, small portions for the price though, our waitress was lovely but getting her peers to do anything was a nightmare for her. we ordered a pepsi and a milkshake which took over 40mins to which our waitress said 'barstaff are doing nothing so I've made it myself'. Personally wouldn't go back

Went for my daughters birthday meal late afternoon in an almost empty restaurant,service was terrible ,once we eventually received our meal food was ok but dirty plates were not taken away at all ,had to go and ask a member of staff for deserts but waited that long for them in the end we just cancelled paid and left.

Went for meal last night worse meal ever! The starter was ok mains were terrible my husband asked for jambalaya with chicken only but it came full of prawns which he specifically said he did not want! I ordered fajitas the onions and peppers were ice cold and raw! Absolutely freezing in restaurant � only plus point was the server who was extremely apologetic and tried her best definitely won’t be going back in a hurry

There's a very good reason I haven't been to Chiquitos in the last 10 years. Hopefully it'll be another 10 before I have to suffer here again.

Deep fried burger. Dripping with grease.

Couldn't cut the kids sausage.

Took over 1.5hrs for the food to arrive.

Place is empty. No for food to take this long.

Small portions ..... had more chilli beef on that nachos rather than the main course ..... not impressed at all

Please do not dine here if you want more than 4 prawns for your starter and you want to eat in under 3 hours! Worst experience and the customer service received from head office even worse. Offered £20 compensation after paying a bill of nearlly £500! Not good at all.
