This photo means a lot to me for a number of reasons... my husband and I got married two years ago today, I had just started turning my hobby of cake decorating into a business and he convinced me to make our wedding cake, partly to save money, but also because he had faith that I could do a good job. To me, this cake looks terrible, the buttercream is crying out for a cake smoother! I would love to make a perfect version of this now, but with a smooth finish, and perhaps a s...ilver drip. BUT! Firstly, I’m so proud of how far my cake decorating skills have come over the past two years, but more importantly, it shows how supportive my husband is of me and my little business. He works hard all week and then takes over the childcare in the evenings and over most weekends to allow me to work... thinking about it, he’s a lot like our wedding cake... they both have their flaws and are a little rough around the edges, but I wouldn’t have them any other way.
