Choir Of The Year

Choir of the Year is a biennial competition for all UK amateur choirs founded in 1984.

Choir of the Year is a UK-wide biennial choral competition open to any amateur choir of between 8 and 100 singers. Founded in 1984, it celebrates our world-class choral tradition through a series of live events and BBC television and radio broadcasts.

A series of live Audition days held in the Spring are the core of our work, bringing together choirs of all ages, music styles and backgrounds at concert halls and theatres across the country. The Auditions offer a great opportunity for singers and conductors to pick up new ideas for repertoire and performance and gain constructive feedback; we would encourage any choir come along and take part, be they experienced competitors or a new group wanting to try a new challenge.
