We had an awesome mothers day afternoon tea yesterday. There were a lot of us to cater for and the staff were really attentive, the tea was hot and the sandwiches and cakes were lovely. My goodness there were so many!! Thank you very much for making the day so special - you made generations of mummies very happy! Oh and the Daddies loved the pig racing!

User

Visited for the first time today...and what a lovely place... my boys really enjoyed feeding the animals and said they had an amazing time..my boys said the pig race was the best and they would love to come again xx

User

Too cute here. It wasn't busy even on a hot sunny saturday and had just the right amount of people. We enjoyed looking around and thete is so many nice places to have a picnic. My kids loved the play areas and the tramplolines are brilliant. Friendly staff. We loved that we could go around feeding the animals. And £5pp is amazing

1000000000% reccomend

User

Today we celebrated my daughter’s 3rd Birthday at the farm. Staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful and everyone (little and large) had such a great day! The food that was put on for the party was perfect and the private area ideal! Thank you for making our day so special! I loved how easy it was to organise too and how little we had to bring

User

Thank you so much Cholderton Charlie’s for my family ticket after winning the competition to name Cosmos and Pandora the lambs! We had a lovely day, both the children thoroughly enjoyed it too. What a lovely family friendly farm with lots to do!. We even enjoyed lunch in the cafe. Can’t wait to come again soon x

User

Recently visited during the Easter holidays with 2 children under 5. Very impressed with the prices - £5 for adults and free for under 2s. The adult price much cheaper than some of the other nearby farm parks. Plenty for children to do - lots of play equipment inside and out, and a good variety of animals. The pig racing was a highlight and the tree top climb.

The cafe is reasonably priced, the staff friendly and helpful.

Would definitely visit again.

User

Never been to a farm before always wanted to lucky my husband find this place booked us in for a farm day with farmer Dan, I really enjoyed myself for my 28th birthday.

meeting all kind of farm animals was amazing. Adopted Agnes the gorgeous Highland cow

The staff was very kind friendly and helpful food was great, I would definitely love to go back again.

Definitely would do the farm day again was the best day ever

User

My sister Her Husband & I visited today with our three year old daughters and we were pleasantly surprised the girls loved the animals and the handlings activities. The woodland and play areas were great as well as the tractor ride and pig racing. We didn’t use the cafe as took our own picnic and there were plenty of areas to sit and eat. Staff were friendly and it was generally clean and tidy (it is a farm after all) If I had to say anything negative it would only be that they had sold out of magnets and I collect them other than that a very enjoyable inexpensive day out x

User

My 2 daughters 6 & 3 love visiting the farm. Always plenty to do and the staff are really nice and helpful. Admission is very reasonable as well which makes for a cheap day out whether it's hot or wet and cold.

User

Lovely time out with the family. Very relaxed time seeing the animals and having a coffee and lunch at your cafe. Great to see all of your new improvements and amazing to see all your vineyards. Will be back again soon for sure

User

Lovely afternoon at the farm. It's clean, animals are well kept and the kids enjoyed feeding them and seeing the babies. The cafe is lovely, staff are friendly. Love the indoor play area too! Looking forward to holding my little boys 1st birthday party here 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

User

I wondered if you could tell me a little more about Agnes?

I am Scottish and was sooo happy to see her today!

I only live in Tidworth so will defo be a regular visitor.

I just wondered how old she is?

Has she ever had babies?

She is sooo friendly. Xx

User

As above loved it :) clean tidy and great for the kids :) we will

Be back we have been twice and haven’t made it around everywhere :) loads to do.

User

Always a lovely day out at Cholderton my boys love feeding the animals and the woodland walk. Farm staff are brilliant and we were served by a lovely person called Tori (I think) in the shop and cafe, and Sally in the kiosk on the farm. Thank you all xx see you soon!

User

We are regular visitors to Cholderton Charlie’s Farm. We like to go as it is much quieter than Finley which suits my little boy better. We usually start saying hello to all the animals, with Megan the highland cow and goat mountain being our favourites. The tractors rides and pig racing are also fun. The play barn is great on a rainy day but if the sun is shining then this place has fantastic outdoor spaces with lots of adventure play equipment, woodland walks, treetop trail and picnic areas. The cafe is lovely and serves good food. For £5 each entry it is really good value.

User

I visit Cholderton Farm on a regular basis with my two young grandchildren.

It’s lovely that the entry price is very reasonable and it’s a great way to spend a few hours enjoying all that the farm has to offer. My granddaughter Indie LOVES Agnes the Highland Cow and is the highlight of her visit every time.

Looking forward to some warmer summer weather so the grandchildren can take full advantage of the outside play areas.

Haven’t eaten in the cafe as yet as I bring picnic lunches for the grandchildren, but great that I can get a take out coffee to enjoy while walking around the farm.

It may not be the ‘biggest’ farm park, but that’s half the appeal. I have always found the ‘pet handling’ ladies very friendly and chatty.

The tree tops walk and large play area by the wooded area is great for older children too.

Would love it if the there was a choice if an am and a pm tractor ride, rather than just at midday!

Will definitely be visiting lots more throughout the year.

Came with my daughter yesterday. It was a damp day so started in the play barn.

Had a lovely time feeding the sheep and goats and playing in the woods. My daughter was very happy petting the baby chicks, guinea pig and rabbit and had a nice lunch in the cafe.

I'm pleased I wore my wellies as it was very muddy but not much can be done about the British weather! It might be an idea to put more chippings down on the paths around the farm yard as it was quite slippy.

A good few hours of fun had at a reasonable price.

User

The farm itself was brilliant. I wouldn’t recommend the cafe/restaurant though. As it was Mother’s Day my friend and I booked in advance for a roast dinner once we have visited the farm. The service was awful. We weren’t offered drinks and had to go and serve ourselves in the end as the waitress kept saying she would be with us (there were other waitresses standing at the till not actually doing anything at this point). They lost our order twice and half way through giving our order, our waitress left us to go and finish serving another table as she had forgotten to ask them what meat they wanted with their roast. The food came and was quite nice, despite the fact it had obviously been cooked that morning and then microwaved as the potatoes and Yorkshire’s were really soggy. The dessert came and you could barely tell what it was as it was absolutely covered with squirty cream (yuk!) one of our children had a lactose intolerance, but instead of asking if we would like a new dessert they gave us a bowl to decant the whip cream into! So although the farm was great and I’ll visit again to see the animals I wouldn’t use the cafe/restaurant again.

User

My friend and I brought our 4 children on Mother’s Day and we were underwhelmed unfortunately. The farm itself has masses of potential but looks very tired in parts, some of the ewes and their lambs were on incredibly wet dirty bedding - this looked to me more that just half a days worth (we saw them at 12’o clock) the tip next to the goat mountain was pretty unsightly too. However I appreciate that perhaps you are a work in progress so accept that that will probably be moved and things redone as you can.

To be honest what tipped it for us was the attitude of one of your waitresses in the restaurant. We weren’t aware it was bookings only, when we walked in the waitress was so rude in the way she explained we couldn’t eat there and when we politely asked why she just pointed to the sign and pulled a very strange face at us. Not how I would expect to be treated as a paying customer. A polite explanation would have been more than adequate.

We then went out to the outdoor shack where we we spent £40 on a few pizzas, a burger, jacket potato and soup. The burger was tiny, the potato pretty tough and I don’t feel it warranted £40 to sit outside in the cold! There was one lady serving so the wait was quite lengthy. Given it was pre booked only inside I would have thought you may have put more staff on the shack. Anyway what I will say is the lady who served us (Sammie I think) was a credit to you, a really lovely lady doing her very best. Her being so friendly and the fact that the kids did enjoy running around and playing has led me to the 3*

So overall you have a wonderful place, with masses of potential, and I appreciate your entry fee is fairly reasonable but I still think there is work to be done. The attitude of that one member of staff is enough to put people off coming back which is a real shame, but no one wants to be spoken to like that on a day out with their kids. I don’t think we will rush back as it stands currently.
