About Church Farm Campsite

We are a campsite nestled in rural Dorset. Open all year round, we are a family friendly site. We look forward to seeing you!

Church Farm Campsite Description

Church Farm Caravan and Camping Park is a quiet site on an arable farm owned by
Steve Judd and his wife, Lee Moneypenny, who extend a warm welcome to caravanners and campers alike. The campsite is situated in the village of Sixpenny Handley (a corruption of Sexpenna, meaning hilltop, and Hanlega, meaning high clearing).

The surrounding area is perfect for long country walks and the views from the site are truly excellent. The Cranborne Chase and West Wiltshire Downs are Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with almost 927 miles of Public Rights of Way. A good place to start is the Sixpenny Handley Roundwalk. There are 850 Scheduled Ancient Monuments from Iron Age hill forts to Roman Roads (a nearby farm was featured on Time Team).

Church Farm Campsite is ideal for those who wish to tour the local area with the historic towns of Salisbury, with its famous cathedral, Blandford, Wimborne, Shaftesbury, with its Gold Hill famous for the Hovis advert, and Ringwood in the New Forest all in close proximity. Bournemouth and Poole are only 40 minutes away with their famous Blue Flag Beaches, or take the chain link ferry from Sandbanks, Poole and explore Swanage with its famous railway, the Purbecks or Corfe Village and Castle.

The site is located a 2 minute walk away from the village centre which has a variety of shops and a public house with a varied menu. Onsite is the restaurant Hanlega’s which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We cater for all ages with activities for the children and our bar with local beers and ales that is open from 6-11pm, 12 on weekends. With takeaways and an ever-changing specials board, give yourself a break from cooking and come in to see us on your holiday!

The reception has a variety of tourist information; please ask us if you have any queries about your stay or the local area. Please note that the office is closed between 12 and 2 pm. We ask that you do not pitch until you have seen someone; you will be asked to move at busy times. There are two toilet blocks, a laundry and washing up room; see our map or ask for more details.

We hope that you enjoy your stay and come back soon!

5 M. P. H. on site please!

Dogs on leads at all times!

How to Find Us

User

Yet again another lovely 4 night stay, brilliant that we could have our granddaughter and a friend staying in the tent right next to us. Facility very clean and food in the restaurant very good. Easy reach of so many places of interest

User

We have been coming here for about 10 years as an easy getaway not too far from home - always clean, friendly and spacious pitches. Gorgeous walks from the site - highly recommend it 👍👍

User

Was very pleasantly surprised by this camping site and had to rate with 5 stars, as they made my life so much easier with a two year old!!

This is the first camping site that I have visited, that actually has a unisex baby changing room, with shower and toilet . A small point, but as a one parent-camper, this was a welcomed relief!! Great clean showers and toilets.

There is loads of space and campers are not all on top of each other.

Playgrounds within very close proximity and a short walk to convenience store, butchers and pub.

There is a restaurant on site too. I only had toast, so cannot comment any further on meals.

There is also a dish wash up area with fridge/freezer, freezer chest and microwave:-)

My only negative is that there is not a proper coffee to purchase anywhere in Six Penny Handley!! So, if you have ‘hook up’, take your Nespresso machine!

Somebody needs to open a cafe with cake and a Costa machine

User

Very impressed with this campsite this weekend - maybe wet windy and soggy but the facilities are great - nice park with skate ramps and a football pitch not to sure if that belonged to the camp but literally on the doorstop. The restaurant had a great choice of food being served which was ideal because I don’t think cooking in our tent when it was bending in half would of been ideal. Toilets and showers near restaurant were spotless and clean so 5 stars all around

User

Very good people, good campsite, friendly and comfortable, no frills and no regimental restrictions, just a warm welcome and a relaxing stay.

User

Second time I've stayed at this campsite. Blessed with glorious weather which made enjoying the beautiful scenery even more enjoyable :) Already want to pre book for next year

User

One night stop over on Friday night. Great setup, very clean. Restaurant and bar facilities, bacon sarnie on Saturday superb!! Would highly recommend.

User

Lovely campsite; clean facilities, good size pitches with space around. The food in the restaurant was lovely and clearly home cooked. The site makes families with children feel welcome, and the small touches like the toddler toilet seat in the family shower room make a big difference.

User

Lovely campsite. Chilled out and in a fantastic location. Lots of walks and a good range of things to do close by.

This is our second visit - in the first visit we pitched with a group in the rally field - great sunsets!

This visit we were in the family field with hookup - not too many rules and very sheltered.

The facilities were clean and looked after. Has Laundry.

User

Lovely campsite in a fantastic area especially if you are a dog walker such as us. We arrived on Friday, everyone's so friendly we were told about a community pub at the cricket pavilion and were not disappointed when we visited, real ales & prossecco at very reasonable prices, what's not to like! Followed by the most amazing fish and chip supper at the club house, truly one of the nicest batters I've ever had full marks to the chef, all in all a great place to stay will definitely return ourselves and recommend to others 😀

User

Love this campsite . Shower and toilet block always clean and Breakfast in the restaurant/bar is a must . Shop is village is brilliant all you could want and very reasonable priced.

User

Just come back from a rally with the east dorsets cc bonfire weekend. Great site with very clean facilities. Great fireworks display from the local Scott's well worth a visit!

User

I have stayed at this campsite 3 times now and have always found the campsite to be well kept and the facilities clean and well maintained. There is a restaurant onsite which does fabulous breakfasts and meals and there is also s bar with reasonable priced drinks. The staff are always lovely and friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend trying this campsite as it is in a great location to explore the surrounding area.

User

Great little campsite. Nice place, great food in club house. And very friendly people. Will be returning👍👍

User

Couldn't fault it, we where looked after very well indeed. We are definitely returning another time. Spotless facilities nice bar and restaurant, with only good reports from those who dined there. Lovely site with a beautiful landscape in a quant easy to walk to village. Plus it was sensibly priced

User

Brilliant campsite. Welcoming staff. Beautiful setting and no "we must insist on silence from 10pm" rules.

User

We returned for our 4th visit as we really enjoy it here.

There is a family field as well as other quieter fields.

The restaurant food is really good and they have a bar.

The wash facilities are excellent and clean.

If a church clock bothers you then don’t park to close or just enjoy the fact that you’re in a country village.

There is a local shop in walking distance and a pub but it’s not always open.

User

This is our 5th visit, we keep coming back! The facilities are great and the restaurant is always good. The best bit is pitching so we can watch the kids play on the great play equipment. There is so much open play space!

User

Nice peaceful site, good general amenities, friendly and reasonable prices, dogs welcome. Been here several times now. Club house, food available, in the heart of the village.
