Church Road Surgery Description
The residents of the Cowley village gathered in at St. Laurence Church in 1954 and voted to have their own surgery in the village. Until that time the residents were going to West Drayton, Hillingdon and Uxbridge to see a GP. Following approval, Church Road Surgery was founded by Dr Watt in the same year. Since, many caring and committed GPs, including Dr Haydn Daily-Jones, have worked in the surgery
The Surgery moved into its current premises in 1990. Dr Mort, who took over the practice in 1983, retired on 30th September 2014 after 31 years of service to the community. He was much loved and respected by patients, staff and colleagues alike.
Dr Shashikanth has been a Principal GP at West London Medical Center, Hillingdon since 2005. He took over the Church Road Surgery in October 2014 and is committed to improve services to the residents of Cowley village. He has refurbished the surgery to mer CQC standards, Dr Shashikanth is supported by valued colleagues Dr Sharma and Dr Arulnanthy and by a very experienced nursing team. The committed management team is led by Mrs Yvonne Blowfield .
Since October 2014 the new team made significant changes to the way surgery operates and has improved service provision.
