As a landlord I found the to be as much use as a chocolate fire guard. I wanted a let only rent so I could manage the property myself but they took the rent money directly without my say so and then charged 5% commission for sitting on their arse which I now can't get back. They're very dishonest and weren't great during the letting process either. Avoid if you don't want to feel like you've been robbed.

Good luck to you if you want to choose them. First of all, they never spelled my name correctly, even in the official contract. Secondly, they asked me to leave my property because the landlord is looking for a 12-month contract, which is fine as I was only able to do 6-month. However, their letting manager sent me an email 3 weeks before the end of my lease, saying that I can stay in my place, a 6-month contract is not a problem. And after I questioned her about these conflicting messages, she spent almost two weeks to find out she sent a wrong message to me. Luckily I didn't listen to her so I had already found my next place to stay, otherwise I would need to move out in less than 2 weeks notice. And, I kind of suspect that the landlord doesn't care about the length of the contract. Because I always paid my rent in advance separated as 6-month even I was signing a 12-month contract. So I would say they possibly sent the wrong message to me at the beginning (another proof is that the name was wrong in the email, they called me Vivien), which means I probably didn't need to move out.
And, after I moved out, they tried to do whatever they can to NOT return the full deposit back to me. They firstly asked my to pay £30 for a general cleaning work. They said there were some water stains in the sink and on a glass shelf. It was a less than 30 minute work, possibly only 10 minutes. Luckily I was able to go back to clean them because I'm still staying in York. If I moved to some other cities then I must pay the £30. And after I done the cleaning job, they said I need to pay another £100 for the wall repainting. Yes I indeed spilt some coffee on the white wall. However, it was at most less than 1.5 meter squares. They say £100 is
a very reasonable quote. What else can I say?
Anyway, these are my experiences. If you're reading this, I hope you would want to think twice before you select them. They may have some good properties to rent or to sell, they may be polite in general. But remember that they are also careless and greedy. If you're rich. Then probably it is not a big problem to you. But to me these experiences are very, very bad. I do like the place I was staying, but I really don't want to step in their office ever again if I'm moving in the future.

LANDLORDS GO ELSEWHERE. Churchills became very unhelpful as soon as we asked to apply for a flat as a tenant. Happy enough to ask for £195 for no real reason, only to pass us off to a third party company based in Cheshire and not assist us with the process. Once that was sorted which took a much longer time than i have ever encountered before, we were told to send more forms and information only to not be contacted again once that was provided. Situation still not resolved. I expect that tenants and landlords would find themselves better off using another agency.

They have no concern for their tenants. So many times we have complained about maintenance issues that are left unresolved still to this day. Would avoid again at all costs.

They were ok when they were getting us to agree on a let, but once they've got your money they're not that bothered, proper hassle with the deposit, claimed money for cleaning fee for the cleaner later to tell me no cleaner was actually contracted to come and clean as the landlady did it herself and magically pulled out 14 quid an hour for 3 hours for something that would take 30 minutes. They then said a cleaner was brought out but they can't provide a receipt, they're telling lies and I wouldn't deal with them based on that.

Agency fees you are paying are for a service and the service and communication at the end was disappointing.

Would defenitly not recommend or use again,ever.

Let properties which are barely live-able in. If you're looking to rent from them be incredibly careful to check all facets of the property. If they tell you the electric is off, get a torch out.

Definite buyer beware.

I'd like to hope they don't deliberately do this but we'll see I guess.

Tried to sell us a house that was falling into the ground... so nearly ruined my life a bit.

Tried to sell my mate a similar one.

Hard-sell approach will stress you out.

Lies will infuriate you.
