The Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) & the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) are the leading professional body in the United Kingdom for taxation. Established in 1930, the The Institute deals with all aspects of direct and indirect taxation. Its primary purpose is to promote education in and the study of the administration and practice of taxation services; with a key aim of achieving a better, more efficient tax system, for all those affected by it - taxpayers, advisers and the authorities. The Merseyside Branch supports the CIOT / ATT by providing continued education and training for tax advisers via branch meetings, discussion groups and conferences.
