A significant part of an acupuncture treatment is offering dietary advice to a patient. Slight changes in what we eat and drink can have profound effects on our health. I am always reassessing my family’s diet and how it can be tweaked easily to nourish us better. The latest tweak is making bread using spelt flour. Spelt is a great source of dietary fibre, protein (which it contains more of than common wheat), and vitamins and minerals. It is also more water-soluble than wheat, which makes it easier for the body to digest. Due to the many minerals and vitamins spelt contains, it can help regulate metabolism, increase circulation, improve the immune system, lower blood sugar, and reduce bad cholesterol levels. If you would like any further tips on how to improve your diet then please do contact me to arrange a consultation.

If you are thinking about bringing some balance back into your life I can thoroughly recommend Elles from Kishori Yoga who is amazing! She has had a couple of spaces become available for her yin yoga class on a Thursday at 12.30 which is wonderfully relaxing and gentle and good for the soul! 🧘‍♀️❤️ 🙏

A lovely review from a patient 😀 ‘Without going into too much detail I had an emergency operation on a hemorrhaging brain tumour last January. As a result of this I lost my eyesight. At the time the surgeon was sure my vision would return, although unlikely to be as before. Two and a half months after the operation my vision had improved although was still blurred, double and limited movement in the right eye. During the last month I’ve had 3 sessions with Melissa and things have improved dramatically!! I was skeptical about acupuncture and was actually made to go by a friend. However now I cannot recommend it enough!
Melissa is extremely competent, professional and has the ability to put you at ease. Needles to say acupuncture is now part of my life!’

Are you feeling the effects of hayfever? Why not book an appointment to alleviate your symptoms? Acupuncture can be very effective in treating itchy eyes and preventing sneezing. A patient said to me today after having two treatments that she can’t believe the difference to previous years with very mild symptoms and a much reduced need for her inhaler for her asthma 😀 If you have any questions please call or message me.

A teenage patient’s mother reported back to me today that after yesterday’s treatment she was like a new girl. After a week of debilitating pain and not sleeping, she slept through last night and managed her first day back at school with almost no pain. Love the power of Chinese medicine.
