Too often fly-fishing is wrongly characterised as the pastime of wealthy older folk and of no appeal to busy young Londoners. City Flickers aims to shatter this stereotype by involving members - some with experience, others with none - in the wonderful world of fly-fishing, with its powerful eco-credentials, its soul-restoring charms and its lively social dimension. With a target membership of 250 young men and women under the age of 35 and drawn from those working in London, City Flickers provides affordable fishing away-days, fly-casting and fly-tying tuition, an annual riverside summer party and other London-based social and educational events, whilst offering discounted access to some terrific fly-fishing and bargain tackle year round. Financed by membership subscriptions and sponsorship, City Flickers offers young people a fun and valuable escape from the stresses of City life. Once hooked, there's a lifetime of pleasure and purpose ahead, so tight lines.
