Do you know anyone over 60 who might be a little bit lonely during the week? Perhaps someone who lives alone and needs an opportunity to see people?
We are excited to announce that our team from Quench Salisbury, the Social Enterprise that we run, have just set up a new event every Tuesday morning called 'Friendship Hub'.
It's for over 60s and each week we invite them to come along and pay £5 for lots of refreshments, a soup lunch with bread and a film, crafts, games or activ...ities. All the money we make from this will pay for the food and then be reinvested back into the kitty to pay for resources/activities etc.
We're hoping to offer a safe, welcoming, comfortable place for older people who wish to meet new people and feel secure and valued in a caring community.
All activities are on the ground floor (so no stairs to climb) and we have a disabled toilet.
Carers are welcome with their clients and will be provided with all refreshments and lunch for the reduced price of £3.
If you know anyone you think might be interested - parents, grandparents, neighbours etc, please do share the info with them! We are so excited to see what this event could become and to help combat loneliness amongst older people. We're also really hoping that this will be an excellent, gentle outreach opportunity!
