The City of London Freemen’s School is a co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 7 to 18. This page is Freemen's official Facebook page.

City Of London Freemen'S School - Official Site Description

The co-educational School was founded in 1854 in Brixton, and moved to the current 57 acre site in Ashtead Park in 1926. Freemen's is one of three independent schools owned by the City of London Corporation, and strong links exist between the City and the School including the annual City Visit and Prize Day. Christian principles remain at the heart of its ethos, although the School is non-denominational.

Pupils at the School achieve excellent academic results (99. 9% A*-C at GCSE and 71. 3% A* and A at A-level), alongside physical, creative, social and spiritual development, through the many opportunities in sport, music, drama, the arts and leisure pursuits. Trips and visits enhance classroom learning across all year groups and subjects, with approximately 100 extra-curricular clubs and an enrichment programme for the whole school.

The School also benefits from a thriving parent community – the FSA – who host regular social events, and a dedicated Alumni Association – the OFA – who run sports teams and social events, both on and off site.

The School’s aims are:
• to provide an education of the highest quality in which each individual can reach his or her academic potential;
• to provide a ‘whole person’ education in which the academic, creative, physical, social and spiritual development of each pupil is promoted in a genuinely co-educational environment;
• to foster an atmosphere of self-respect and care for others in which pupils are confident, fulfilled and happy;
• to prepare pupils to identify and fulfil their role in society and to provide an education for life;
• to work in partnership with parents, governors, staff and former pupils to achieve the School’s aims.

We encourage current parents and alumni to let us know of any news you would like us to post here on your behalf.
We welcome parents considering Freemen's for their child to arrange to visit us. Just give us a call on 01372 822 423 or email us at admissions@clfs. surrey. sch. uk. We look forward to hearing from you.

"This house believes nuclear weapons made the world a safer place from 1945 - 1951" Congratulations to our students who performed fantastically at the Churchill Society Debate, Guildhall. Olivia won the prize for best question and Nathan's team goes forward to the debating events at the Old Bailey in May.

The Headmaster and Mrs Martin (Outreach and Partnerships Officer) were fortunate to have an audience with Nick Gibb (Minister for Education) in the House of Commons yesterday to discuss the Counterpoint project as a model for state and independent school partnerships.
Mr Martin has been working with Professor Sonia Blandford from Achievement for All to develop the programme, while Mrs Martin has been working on the connections with local partners, Rosebery, Epsom Primary, Walton on the Hill Primary and Therfield Schools. Counterpoint was launched as a pilot programme in September not only to help schools to make the right sort of mutual connections for the benefit of all children in the community, but also to bring Achievement for All’s expertise in coaching and tracking into our schools.
