Hired a van to collect furniture from Germany. The van was new and the customer service was great. They pointed out any scratches before we saw them. They fitted the van with everything we needed for Europe and supplied all the documents. We returned the van and got our deposit back no issues. Thank you for the great service!

I hired a sprinter van for a house move over the weekend. To my dismay somebody had gone into the side of it when it was parked up (and driven off without a note) and caused a substantial amount of damage. When I returned the van the staff were nothing but understanding. The lady on the desk was very apologetic about the fact that I would lose my £275.00 deposit. If I'm honest I was scared they would charge me more like a lot of other hire companies but they didn't, even though the damage was obviously going to cost a lot more to fix! It is annoying I lost my deposit because of somebody else's carelessness but I am over the moon it hasn't cost me anything more. I will definitely use City Self Drive again and highly recommend them.

Looked like a good fleet of buses which swung my decision to use city self drive and very Good customer service prior to day of hiring.
On arrival all the nice minibuses were in the yard yet we were given an old 08 plate Renault traffic, which was battered and marked beyond belief. We thought it was a joke to start with.
We were told to do a damage check on the vehicle with one of their guys who rushed around the vehicle as it was very busy.
There was that many different marks scuffs and dents that we were just agreeing with what he pointed out.
We had the van for the weekend in Blackpool and not once didn't anything touch the van whilst on the road. It was on a driveway all weekend.
Upon returning the van, we had a jumped up little kid do the checks and he was saying we had caused damage (a crease in the panel and scratches) we said there was no way we had done this and he wasn't having any of it, rude and cocky little boy.
Anyway we were refused our £275 deposit back which has angered and upset me as we hadn't done any such thing to the van.
The £250 to hire the bus was a joke with the state that it was in, how they get away with hiring that thing out is beyond me.
Rude staff, shoddy vehicles and scam artists, if I could give this 0 stars I would.
I would recommend avoiding these and going elsewhere.
Disgrace.

It was less than 6 months old clean and very comfortable, a dream to drive thanks City Self drive your customer service was great and have recommended you to all my family and friends . Defiantly will use again 5*

We currently hire vehicles on a weekly basic at City Self Drive. There service is second to none, the staff are so helpful and will always do what they can above and beyond. Used several other hire firms and city cannot be beaten. Great vehicles at great prices without all the hassle.

We have just dropped a van off after helping my mum move home this weekend. The 'inspection' person said there was a dent in the body work. Admittedly I scraped past a bush which would have never caused a dent in the bodywork. Anyway, £245 down and they have their van back which is never going to be repaired. Good luck to you if you ever hire from this company, I certainly won't be going back there again.

Excellent customer service, very friendly staff who go out of their way to help, and the best prices in town. Would definitely recommend these guys to anyone and will definitely be returning!

I'd booked and paid a van deposit in the morning over the phone, and was told to collect at 5pm on the same Saturday. I arrived at 5pm as directed and the premises were closed. I received no phone nor a text to let me know.

They put me in a very difficult situation for my house move, and I had to rearrange a huge amount of moving plans because of their miscommunication.

It's unacceptable, I expect my deposit back quickly and I won't be using them. It's a shame because their fleet looks quite good.

I'd give them zero stars if I could.
