Our powdered paint event, The Claire House Splash Dash, is returning to Sefton Park on Saturday 22nd September!
This is Merseyside's messiest 5k, where the whole family can run, walk, skip or spacehop, all whilst getting messy as you make your way around the route passing through the many paint stations!

Today, on Saturday the 11th of August, we are remembering Louie Joseph Mark Adams on his 4th birthday. His mum Stacey, dad Steve and big sister Ruby have paid for a full day’s care at Claire House Children’s Hospice. They’d like to thank everyone who has supported their quizzes, raffles and curry nights, helping to raise over £6600.
Louie was born 5 weeks early, with Downs Syndrome. He was an amazing, beautiful boy, who people were drawn to. Once you’d met Louie, you would... never forget him.
Louie defied doctors by walking much sooner than expected and talking too. When Louie was diagnosed with an extremely rare lung condition he went from being special, to ultra-special.
Louie sadly passed away when he was just two years old and came to rest in one of the Butterfly Suites at Claire House. Mum Stacey said ‘No words can thank Claire House for the support they have given and are still giving to our family’. Ruby loves spending time with other Claire House siblings. She says, ‘It makes me feel like I’m not alone’.
Everyone at Claire House would like to thank Louie’s family and send their best wishes on his birthday.

"If you go down in the woods today / You're sure of a big surprise"
The children had a lovely surprise yesterday at Claire House Liverpool when they arrived to a Teddy Bear's Picnic with our very own Claire Bear 🐻🐻🐻

Did you know that Claire House were the first Makaton friendly hospice?
Lots of the children who come to Claire House use Makaton, so last week we had a Mr Tumble party to encourage everyone at the hospice to use Makaton.
Makaton is a language programme using signs and symbols to help the children communicate, like their favourite character Mr Tumble.
... Ciara and Heidi had a great time!

The Claire House Referrals team need a new car to reach every family that needs us.
A car for the Referrals team could mean the difference between us being there for a family when they’re about to break – and us not making it.

Yesterday was National Play Day, so of course we couldn't let it pass by without a day of celebrations!
We had a visit from a makaton choir, a very friendly pony and the Silly Milly and Jolly Molly Show. As well as lots of games and face painting.
It was fun times all round!

Help us find Fynley to say THANK YOU!
We received a lovely letter from Fynley who has taken part in the Fiver Challenge and raised a fantastic £46 for Claire House.
Sadly, he did not include what his group was called or contact information so we cannot get in touch to thank him.
... If you know Fynley and his group, please message us so we can give him a big THANK YOU!

What a challenge!🚴🚴🚴
We would like to say a huge thank you and massive well done to Paul, Chris and Dan who all took on the Great Mountain Divide Bike Route for Claire House.
The challenge which takes around four weeks to complete begins in Canada and finishes in New Mexico. The route is made up of long dirt roads and jeep trails and the biggest risk to the riders throughout the challenge is grizzly bears.🐻
... By the routes end a rider will climb nearly 200,000 vertical feet - the equivalent to summiting Mount Everest from sea-level 7 times.
We think you'll agree this is a huge achievement.

Girl power! 👊 👊 👊
We are super pleased to announce, we have been shortlisted at the North West Charity Awards for Fundraising Campaign.
We have been nominated by Girlguiding for the Claire House Challenge Badge!
... The inspiration behind the badge is Holly Smallman. Holly, who has complex medical needs, is a member of 7th Crosby Guides and is supported by Claire House.
Over 10,000 girls have completed the badge, which aims to explore the issue of disability and life-limiting conditions through interactive activities, with the hope of raising awareness.
We’ve got all our fingers and toes crossed for the awards!

The event will be taking place on Sunday 23rd September at Claremont Farm, so get the date in your diary and your pooches pampered ready for a dogtastic day.
There is no need to book tickets, it’s entry by donation and £2 to enter your dog into a category. Keep your eyes peeled for more information.

Went on a tour this afternoon to see how Claire house is run. I work for TSB bank and claire house is our chosen charity to raise money for this year, the tour really helped me to understand the reasons why our fundraising is so vital. The incredible job that the staff and volunteers do brought me to tears and I was very humbled by everything I saw. My eyes and my heart were opened in such a positive and vibrant way and my colleagues and I will do our absolute best to make sure that we can smash our targets for all of the amazing children and young adults that use the facilities that make such a difference x

The staff at Claire house looked after my amazing little nephew Sam, and his equally amazing mummy Natalie, daddy Shaun and siblings Alex an Nell. The care and support that the staff gave went above and beyond their call of duty. Even when we lost our special boy in September (age 2) the staff didn't stop Thier care and support and still keep in contact now. The tenderness they shown our Sam when he had passed an was in the butterfly suite will never ever be forgotten.

I would like to say the biggest thank you to all the staff that supported and cared for our precious Angel boy and his family. Your all amazing.
