Hurray! September's here and I honestly can't say I'm sad to see the back of August, as it was certainly a challenging one in the Robinson household! Whatever the Autumn brings you, I hope it'll be truly wonderful.....like a mug of hot chocolate topped with little fluffy marshmallows!

I've been lucky enough to conduct two beautiful wedding ceremonies within the past two weeks. Both were completely different in every way, but were equally wonderful and very personal to the couples involved. It's truly a privilege to be chosen by a couple and then be able to give them the opportunity to have whatever they want for their ceremony, held wherever they would like it to be and with absolutely no restrictions, other than their imaginations. I promised that it wouldn't rain too......and of course I always keep my promises!

19th May 2018, brought the nation a wonderful wedding between two people who are clearly very much in love. As today showed, and was mentioned during the ceremony, love can overcome most things and break down barriers. May the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex have a long and happy life ahead of them, without prejudice, cynicism, or fear.

I had a great time yesterday, visiting one of the Eastbourne Artists Open Houses, with my sister, Andrea (who was helping out). Whilst viewing some gorgeous artwork and ceramics, I also met a lovely Milliner called Angela Elliot, of Elliots Millinery, who was displaying a selection of her beautiful vintage inspired hats and bridal head wear. Angela makes bespoke, handmade hats and also runs vintage hat workshops. it's a wonderful and unusual idea for a hen party, or Bride-To-...Be and Bridesmaids get together (you could make the headpieces that are worn at the wedding) especially if you're having a vintage inspired wedding. Angela offers three levels of workshop and provides the tuition and materials necessary to create your own cocktail hat/fascinator, vintage style hat or headpiece, or felt/straw traditional 'milliner's' hat. I would recommend checking out her website: www.elliotsmillinery.co.uk and her facebook page: www.facebook.com/vintagehatworkshops
Enjoy the good weather at long last!

So, we're nearly half way through March and 'The Beast From The East' is now well and truly behind us (actually, it was more like a slightly miffed lamb, here in Eastbourne). Mother's Day has been and gone too. I was well and truly spoilt, thanks to my very lovely 'almost' daughter-in-law and eldest son, plus the gorgeous Julia Holman and her fantastic hairdressing skills, my own amazing mum (and dad!), my tired and poorly middle son, and last but very definitely not least, m...y wonderful (and also poorly) husband, who actually spoils me every day, reminding me exactly why I fell in love with him over 34 years ago!
I read a quote recently that stated the two things a parent should give their child were roots and wings. I thought it was wonderful and so simple. Give your child a firm, stable, grounding, creating the roots from which they can grow and develop and then give them wings with which they can fly. A statement which is so obvious and yet, at times, the most difficult thing for a parent to do. So for all prospective, new, or existing parents, maybe we should keep in mind this advice - especially when your maternal or paternal instincts are screaming the opposite at you!
Easter next, and then the start of the main wedding season (and babies being born too!). Am I just getting old, or is this year flying by?!.....

Well hello! Guess what? It's that time again. February and the month of luurrrve! To be honest, these days, in our house we tend to get more excited about Pancake Day, but after 31 years of marriage, that's probably not a complete surprise! Actually, we're just happy with the fact that we're still together, enjoy each other's company and are as much in love as we were all those years ago - I guess we just feel that we don't necessarily need a particular day in the year to rem...ind us of that. Our own thoughts aside however, for many people Valentine's Day is a romantic and special occasion, when they may fall in love, declare their love, propose, get married, or celebrate the anniversary of any of the aforementioned, so if that applies to you, or you simply want to spend some quality time with the person you love (which is usually what we do) I hope you have a truly wonderful day/evening and that romance fills the air in abundance. And for those people who don't have a partner?.....Put your feet up, give yourself a treat and remind yourself of just how lovely you are! Love and hugs to you all. Xxxx

Well hello there! Apologies, as I've been a tad useless with posting, having succumbed to the flu that's doing the rounds. However, I'm (almost) back to full fitness, therefore no longer have an excuse! So, here it goes, lengthy post alert!........ A little late, I realise, but New Year resolutions? Did you make any and if so, how are they going? Sadly, I'm someone who has the willpower of a slug. Actually that's unfair to slugs. Those slimy horrors seem to have an immense wi...

I'm thrilled to be able to day that I'm now a fully qualified Reiki Master. Huge thanks to the lovely Carole Smith for teaching me levels 1 and 2 and to the truly amazing Dawn Hopwood, who came down for a long weekend from Cannock in Staffordshire, so that she could teach me to Master level. Info about Reiki has now been added to my www.tailoredceremonies.com website, so take a look (all prices are on there too). If you're feeling stressed, anxious, depressed, or maybe are just in need of a little chill-out/'me' time, get in touch and see what you think. Namaste! β˜ΊπŸ™

Remember, remember, that the 5th of November doesn't only mean firework and bonfire parties. You could get married, have a vow renewal, baby or child naming ceremony, welcome to the family celebration, Handfasting, commitment ceremony, celebration of life, Internment of ashes... in fact any ceremony you may wish to indulge in - limited only by your imagination. Go on.....you know you want to!

Now, I mentioned last week that you shouldn't ever feel tied by convention when it comes to arranging your funeral, so I reckon Katie Price had that in mind when she decided to start her latest 'Crystal Coffin' business venture! Forget oak, wicker, or cardboard, Katie decided that bright pink, crystal studied coffins are the way to go. They come complete with the slogan 'Ashes to ashes, bust to bust' painted along the side and a rather - ahem - 'prominent' couple of crystal topped extras!.....Well I guess it'll be somewhere to prop up a floral tribute or photo! The coffins are certainly different and absolutely Priceless (sorry!).

I'm sorry, I've held off for a long time, but I've gritted my teeth and decided that I can't keep quiet any longer. This is going to be a long post and I'm afraid I'll have to use the 'F' word on more than one occasion, so here I go...................... Funerals.
OK, so now you're probably sticking your fingers in your ears and singing VERY loudly, or you're horrified with me and about to close this altogether, but try to stick with it i...

So now we're in the month of all things spooky, I thought I would post some pictures for all the Goths out there. Who says weddings have to be white and fluffy?!! I did a Handfasting ceremony for a Gothic/Medieval/Steam-Punk couple. The whole thing was completely tailored to their believes and ideas and was also one of the most personal and intimate ceremonies I've officiated at - I loved every minute! Never say us Celebrants aren't adaptable and should you come across one that isn't.......run! Have a happy October everyone :-)
