On Saturday the 18th of August, the Salford Family Fete is back at the Methodist Church on King Street! Plenty of family fun and gorgeous items for sale from local makers!

Hello neighbours :) Our Wimbledon (and football) trial-run screening yesterday was a success! What else would you like to see on the big screen at the community garden? Please help us to learn more about what everyone would like by filling in the short form below. We gathered some great responses yesterday on-site and we want to build on that with online responses. The more we know, the more fun we can have together

It's great to finally have some rainfall for the garden - it definitely needed it!
But the forecast's looking good for our screening of the Wimbledon Men's Final on Sunday. Come & join us for tennis, Pimms and strawberries.

Join us at the Claremont Place Community Garden on Sunday the 15th of July from 13:45 to watch the match, chat with your neighbours and eat lovely strawberries with cream.
Donations are very much welcome for entry, to help us cover the costs of running the event. You'll also be able to buy fresh strawberries and cream, Pimms and sweets from us on the day.
... Bring your own rug, chairs and picnic and get to know your neighbours as part of our big screen Wimbledon gathering!

If anyone came to the bike event in the park today and forgot to complete a questionnaire, we’ll have some copies tomorrow at the Friends of Lightoaks Park maintenance session from 11am.
Complete it for a chance to win a bike service or week’s free hire of a trailer and child seat, a D lock, t-shirt or copy of Bike Nation.
We’ll be drawing the winners tomorrow afternoon.

We're combining two great initiatives, 'The Great Get Together' and 'The Big Bike Revival', into one big event across two locations.
10am-2pm: Lightoaks Park 'Dr. Bike' check-ups Try out riding different types of bikes including Bambino bikes, cargo bikes, e-bikes
... 2pm-4pm: Claremont Place Community Garden (next to Gazania Hair & Beauty) Community barbecue and pizzas with games and prizes
