1962 introduced Class 309s for Clacton and East Anglia from 62 to 94. NorthWest in Manchester 94 to 2000. Short DTP time, two in preservation since 2009.
Class 309 Clacton Emu Description
The 1962 BR built Clacton EMUs - work on the express services in Essex to Clacton and later Surrounds. Also later in South Manchester and the North West, as well as few years in Departmental service. Two now in preservation at the Electric Railway Museum
