With this week's Bar Menu relaunch, we've revamped and improved our collection of Gin Experiences. We have hand picked a selection of quality gins and carefully paired them with a premium tonic from Fever-Tree, and garnished them with fresh fruit. These include: Brockmans, with blueberries, grapefruit and a Mediterranean tonic.
... Martin Millers Westbourne Strength, with star anise, sliced red apple and a pink aromatic tonic.
Whitley Neill Blood Orange, with fresh mint, orange and a Mediterranean tonic. Roku, with ginger root, rosemary and a fever tree tonic.
Gilpins Westmorelands, with lemon wheels, juniper berries and a lemon tonic. Our complete collection can be found in our bar menu.

And for those who have a favourite amongst some of our old cocktails, then do threat! We've hand picked some of the most popular to keep within our collection.

... Betty Blue: A Clayton's twist on the classic cosmopolitan. Absolut Vanilla Vodka, Blue Curacao, Cranberry juice and fresh lime.
Cubana Mojito: The Original Cuban classic. Havana 3 Year old rum, freshly muddled mint, lime and demerara sugar. Topped up with soda.
Geisha: A unique blend of delicate flavours. Havana Club 3 Year Old rum, Lychee syrup, Orgeat, Cranberry juice and fresh lime.
Long Island Iced Tea: Boozy and delicious. Russian Standard vodka, Tanquary gin, Bacardi rum, Cointreau, El Jimador Blanco tequila. Layered over coke.
White Russian: Classic and creamy. Russian Standard vodka and Kahlua, topped up with milk.

We have expanded our cocktail collection to a massive 26! And we are sure there is a little something for everyone amongst our collection of both new and old favourites.

... After Eight Frappe; Refreshingly creamy and full of flavour. Creme de Menthe, Baileys, Kahlua and Milk.
Brockmans Bramble; An exciting Clayton's twist on a classic. Brockmans gin and Chambord raspberry liqueur, with fresh raspberries and lemon.
Caribbean Sunset; A favourite from our collection of November Speciality Cocktails. Sailor Jerry's spiced rum, Pineapple juice, Grenadine and fresh lime.
Jamaica Fruit Punch; Made using a spirit relatively new to our back bar. Jamaica Cove Black Pineapple Rum, Archers Peach Schnapps, fresh lime and ginger ale.
Mai Thai; A classic. Havana Club Especial, Cointreau, Grenadine, fresh lime, orange and pineapple juice.
Sloe Gin Fizz; Another popular speciality cocktail. Foxdentons Sloe gin, Tanquary gin, and fresh lemon. Finished with a Fever Tree Sicilian Lemon Tonic.
Vanilla Espresso Martin; We have revamped one our our most popular cocktails. Using Absolut Vanilla vodka to provide a subtle vanilla undertone to this rich coffee classic. Freshly pulled coffee, Kahlua and Absolute Vanilla vodka.

Fever Tree Sicilian Lemonade: Delicious and refreshing. Try in our revamped Pink Lemonade mocktail or on its own over ice.
Belvoir Cucumber and Mint Sparkling Presse: A new addition to our soft drinks collection. A delicate blend of pressed cucumber juice and mint with a flora hint of geranium.

Raspberry Rumble; Freshly Muddled mint, lime and raspberries, topped up with Ginger Ale and Lemonade.
Pink Lemonade; One of our old favourites, but with a new twist. This time, we're using Fever-Tree incredibly tasty Sicilian Lemonade, with fresh lemon and Grenadine.
Temptation; Another Clayton's classic. Orange and Pineapple juice with white peach puree and grenadine.

What’s not to love about this place. The food is excellent with a great variety to choose from fixed menu plus an ever changing ‘specials’ menu. The Sunday roast is one of the best I’ve ever tasted, anywhere � Staff are fabulous providing great service with a smile and the refurb is just great.

Went to Claytons for New Year and it didn’t disappoint! The atmosphere, food and wine pairings were brilliant and ensured our party of 12 saw 2018 in with style. Great job, great effort by the team there. Would recommend!

Went in for lunch yesterday and excellent food as always. Definitely one of Barnstaple's best places to eat out. Top class chef!

We had a meal upstairs in the Glasshouse. We are both veggies and the choice was really good, the meals were perfect and it was well worth the money. Staff were attentive, but not over the top.

We came for dinner a couple of weeks ago and I have to say it was one of the nicest meals both my husband and I have had locally.

It’s up there with some Michelin star places we have been to.

We called in on the off Chance we were seated upstairs in the Glass house which was lovely, we were made to feel very welcome, just me and my daughter. We were only after a light meal the menu with choices for £5 was just perfect and we had top waiter service from Ryan Young! and Jason!

Very relaxed and great atmosphere. Staff friendly with good service. Great menu and fab food. Definately recommend it and would go again

Just got back from a fab evening meal after winning the Facebook competition to win a two course meal for two! New menu only launched today and we were the first people to try the white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake - hands down the best cheesecake we've ever tried! Main dishes were amazing as well, the photos don't really do it justice. Highly recommended �

I love Claytons, it's always a favourite for a lovely lunch or evening out. Especially delighted there's now a good selection of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. The staff always make you feel special.

I live in Bristol where there are hundreds of restaurants but Claytons in Barnstaple is a favourite of mine. Fabulous food. Wonderful staff. I have been there with friends and I have been there with my grandchildren (and I have also been there with both at the same time!). Always made to feel welcome. Will definitely be going again in the new year.

I celebrated my birthday in Claytons last night and it was fab!

There were 11 of us. We enjoyed lovely prosecco and nibbles, then food from the main menu.

I was treated to a delicious Marie Antoinette cocktail too �.



The place was busy and buzzing and the staff were courteous and helpful.



We'll be back and are happy to recommend Claytons �

Huge thanks for a wonderful meal and great service for my last night in Devon before home. Gin was also delicious, if only it was served like that at home! I even managed to head home with a recipe for my pannacotta (the best I've had so far)

Had a cracking time last night at #FizzyThursdays! Departed from the expected and tried the Chase Seville gin experience instead, absolutely delicious, though my fiancée loved the prosecco and strawberries. Lovely ambience there, very friendly and efficient staff as well. Highly recommend.
