• Teaching your puppy 'good manners' when meeting people, and behaviour around the food bowl, and appropriate play with toys;
• Safe, structured off lead play, with puppies of the same age to develop vital communication skills;
• Confidence Courses, designed to help with the development of balance, coordination and spatial awareness;
• Daily examination & grooming, preparing your puppy for trips to the vet;
• Early detection of and strategies to prevent problems like; resource guarding, separation anxiety, fears, phobias and aggression.

Junior Training Classes - Puppies 5 months of age and older.

The five-week course will help you to understand and deal with physiological and psychological changes that your puppy is undergoing, and provide practical training, and help and advice on topics such as;
• Learn how to use rewards effectively

🎓 Happy Graduation 🎓
On Tuesday night both our Puppy School and Well Mannered Dog Course graduated so can we all say a huge well done!
We achieved 43/45 stars on our Puppy School and 24/25 on our Well Mannered Dog Course ⭐
... Here is some of the feedback below: 🐾 A huge thank you for your amazing support. I've found owning a puppy very rewarding and absolutely fabulous but at times very challenging. I feel like I've been through such an emotional rollercoaster and the ride has been made much smoother. Thank you girls for all your help and support. I appreciate it more than you will ever know 🐾 🐾 Great getting extra advice and tips each week. Thank you for answering our questions 🐾 Charlie learnt a few tricks and is better at recall
As some of you are aware from our previous post, Carrie has been absent from classes over the last couple of weeks as one of her dogs, Fuzzy has been very poorly and is still undergoing treatment. Vicky has been running classes in Carrie's absense and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been supportive as it has allowed Carrie to focus on what is most important, Fuzzy ❤ ❤
There is a post on Fuzzy further down our page with lots of lovely photos ❤

Travelling with your Dog
The law states that a dog should be restrained in a car, by a harness, lead or crate.
Not doing so may invalidate your insurance ☹
... If you fail to restrain your dog, you are breaking the law ☹
Safe Travel Restrain your dog behind a securely fitted dog guard.
If using a crate to restrain your dog, ensure it is fitted securely.
Or, your dog should be fitted with a correctly sized harness which clips into the seatbelt clip.
When using a car harness, secure your dog to the rear seats. An exploding airbag can kill a dog.
Do not allow your dog to hang its head out of the window, debris from the road could injure a dogs eyes, nose and mouth.
Remember: A loose dog can be thrown through the window screen, kill the driver or passenger upon impact of the dog hitting their seat. We always keep our dogs harnesses and leads close to hand in case we need to get out of the vehicle in an emergency. Ensure your dog accepts restraint, being held by the collar whilst waiting on a busy motorway or road for recovery is likely to be something your dog may not like if they haven’t been shown how to behave.

Happy Graduation! 🎓
This week our Puppy School and Well Mannered Dog Course graduated and look at how smart they all look! 😍🎓
Here are a few comments we recieved on both classes; ... ⭐ First time dog owner, learnt so much! ⭐ Arlo likes it and it was very informative ⭐ Great support and understanding, excellent knowledge ⭐ Learnt lots of techniques and also gave us confidence when out ⭐ We would like to continue here with training as our dog is settled in this environment and responds to Carrie ⭐ Apollo is far better behaved than we could have hoped for at his age ⭐ Our dig has become trained in everything (and more) that we first wanted when starting this course ⭐ Huge improvement in the behaviour of my dog ⭐ Main aim was to walk well on the lead which was achieved along with many other tricks
If you are looking for classes or a 1 to 1 training session, please send an email to carrie.evans@btconnect.com to request an information pack

Fuzzy Some of you are aware that 10 days ago I took Fuzzy to see Jacqui Paterson as my gut told me something was wrong. She was eating, drinking and toileting ok. No physical signs of illness. She had lost a little weight otherwise she was her normal self. I just felt she wasn't. Jacqui took an xray of her abdomen which revealed a large mass. Further investigations including an ultrasound and exploratory surgery revealed a large invasive mass close to her kidney. Histology... concluded a haemangiosarcoma. Due to so many major arteries and the location it was decided to refer Fuzzy to Wear Referrals.
Having every confidence in the amazing team at Wear following Jack's initial referral 2yrs ago and continued treatment for a brain tumour an appointment was made Monday for a CT scan.
The CT confirmed the mass size of 7cm x 6cm x 7.5cm. Although a common cancer in dogs the location makes it extremely rare. Prognosis is not good. However, we have decided to opt for surgery to hopefully remove all of the tumour followed by chemotherapy.
How long this will give Fuzzy is unclear. Maybe 6 to 9 months. Jack was given no more than 9mths and 2 years later he continues to battle this horrible disease.
Being there for Fuzzy and Jack, not forgetting Gizmo is important and I hope everyone understands why I have been absent from classes, behaviour and day care.
Vicky and the team are doing a great job in my absence. Thank you for your patience, understanding and support during this difficult time.
Carrie
