Congratulations Boris Johnson, now letβs get on and sort the Brexit impasse and get the agenda back on to other important issues affecting our country.
Iβm not a fan of pastels but I am a fan of bees. Letβs see what we can do with this in Worthing. Agree?

We had a packed agenda at the Joint Strategic Committee on Tuesday. We have:
π Declared a climate emergency and brought forward carbon reduction targets by 20 years.
β»οΈ Started a programme of replacing council vehicles with electric ultra low emission versions.
... π‘ Approved plans to build 171 new homes, 40% being social rent, the rest being shared ownership or affordable rent.
π Initiated a cultural trust to ensure our theatres and museums continue to flourish and tap into external funding.
π Approved plans to deliver significant light industrial and employment space on the old refuse tip at Decoy Farm with Β£5m of external funding.
πΊ Confirmed Β£800,000 of investment in Highdown Gardens, securing the legacy of Sir Frederick Stern for the future.
π Agreed to loan GBMet college Β£5m to fund and support further and higher education in Worthing.
Thereβs so much going on in Worthing for the better and Iβm proud to be part of this townβs journey forward.

Last night the Joint Strategic Committee proposed declaring a #ClimateEmergency which was carried unanimously. This will bring carbon neutrality targets forward by 20 years, showing bold leadership by WBC in tackling climate change.
We cannot do this alone and the actions of individuals, businesses and national government all have their parts to play.
There is strong public support for doing more to protect and conserve our shared environment and we can all make changes to support this joint endeavour. πβ»οΈπ

Great to meet these little guys earlier on today. They all presented their ideas clearly and persuasively and had really thought things through. Some clear actions for me to take forward and with the support of the Friends of group I am confident we can help make some of their ideas a reality. Well done guys ππ»ππ»ππ»
