Cllr John Potter Description
Even before being elected to Preston City Council, John Potter had proved himself to be a formidable campaigner.
From exposing Labour's poor financial record in Preston to taking the fight against the Conservatives plans to charge children with special education needs to go to school.
John Potter isn't afraid to stand up for what he believes in. Unlike a lot of current career politicians John has proven himself to be an outstanding community based campaigner and local councillor.
Commenting on his selection, John said "I've always enjoyed the challenge of taking on politicians and political parties who have got too comfortable in their seats. "
"Helping local residents has been the most rewarding thing I've ever done. Working with the police, community groups, council staff and the local Liberal Democrat Focus team to make a difference to peoples lives is hugely satisfying. "
Born in West Cumbria to parents who both worked in the NHS, John Potter moved to Preston over a decade ago to study at the University.
Always passionate about liberalism and fairness John Potter has made a real impact since becoming a councillor in 2010.
Outside of politics and his work as an corporate cameraman and editor, John Potter's other passion is rugby. John plays socially for Preston Grasshoppers.
