What a Beautiful place to stay. I would definately recommend this place.
We visited Close House for the first time on 14 Dec for an overnight stay. We bought the Black Friday deal. We knew there wasn't a great deal to do there if you weren't a golfer but hoped to have a few long walks, however, the weather dictated otherwise which obviously isn't the fault of Close House. We ate lunch, dinner and breakfast there and the food was absolutely delicious, very reasonable price wise and the service was outstanding. Our room was huge and had everything we needed. The only problem we had was there was no hot water and a freezing cold shower on a cold December evening isn't my idea of fun. We reported the problem and it turned out there was a fault with the boiler which was fixed later in the evening. When arriving for our breakfast, we were told it would be complimentary because of the problem with the water the previous evening, this was very much appreciated but totally unnecessary. We will definitely return but maybe when the weather is better and we can explore the grounds.
We revisited on the 24th June 2018 to play the Colt Course after our round was snowed off when we did our stay and play in March.
I have to say the service received from your team on both occasions was excellent. The accommodation,food and golf in March were fantastic and again in June the food, service and golf just first class. Thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of the Colt Course.
Thank you again, you should be proud of the team you have there.
We had a first class experience from checking in to leaving. Clubhouse staff couldn’t do enough for us and the serving staff were very hospitable!!
Golf courses in great condition and very well presented. Worth the travel and would certainly pay a further visit in the future.
Two fantastic golf courses in stunning setting. Excellent clubhouse and food, we stayed in the lodge which was five star accommodation and all so excellent value for money. 🏌️♂️⛳️👍 hopefully be back soon.
Took my wife to show her as I had been a couple of times. She loved it and like me thought the room was absolutely brilliant best we have stayed in. Food was great and staff where great. She can’t wait to go back.

We had afternoon tea ther yesterday ... it was fabulous
The only person that let it down was a young waitress with a stud through her nose who split milk on the table and failed to wipe up .Her skirt was far too short and her customer services skills were nil !
Either train her properly or let her go as she certainly wasn’t doing you any favours

Stayed over night 13th to 14th February. Restaurant food , evening meal and breakfast were superb. The staff are helpful and nothing too much trouble. No idea about golf but if the coarse is kept anywhere near the way the hotel is I imagine it’s perfect.
Played the Filly on February 4th and was in awesome condition especially for the time of year and wether we have had. The rooms were amazing and food was beautiful. The staff were very polite and service was top class.
See you all again March 28th
Played the Filly course yesterday having previously played the Colt course a couple of years ago. Both courses outstanding. Preferred the Filly as it was easier for a mid teen handicapper like myself. Excellent clubhouse and very friendly staff. Watched two days of the British Masters at the course and the set up was superb. Can’t wait to come back again. Truly puts the North East on the golfing map.
Played the Filly course on Saturday and Sunday the course was in really good condition. It's one you have to think your way around
Then played the Colt on Monday, What can I say, every hole is enjoyable even if like myself, you don't bring your A game.
We stayed in the Courtyard rooms and were pleasantly surprised, the room was large, well furnished and very comfortable.
The Staff also deserve a mention as well, they are courteous and friendly making you feel very welcome.
Taxi into Newcastle takes about 15 to 20 min

I visited with 26 others from our golf society over the weekend. The weather was superb and we played both courses which were in tremendous condition. The Filly course is flatter but still very tricky where you have to think your way round. The Colt course is more rugged and demanding but a true test of all your golfing skills. The accommodation is excellent, right up there with the best. The clubhouse has only a small pro shop but the staff are very helpful. The bar and restaurant are on the top floor and have great views and a fantastic outdoor area which we were able to take advantage of. The food was very good and the prices were reasonable for this standard. Altogether we had a very good visit and will definitely be back. Thoroughly recommend on every account!
I chose to be a member of this amazing golf club 4 years ago and have never looked back. The facilities are second to none. A very modern contemporary club house and restaurant. Very chilled relaxed atmosphere. Just a joy to visit even if you’re not a golfer. There are two exceptionally well kept golf courses to choose from plus a 9 hole par 3 course to practice your short game. The practice facilities at the academy are outstanding with a great new cafe attached. All staff throughout the club are very friendly and welcoming as are the members. So much competition golf to choose from or just rock up and have a fun competitive game with family and friends. Unlike most golf clubs in the north east Close House has no restrictions on playing time for women and there is total equality on and off the course. For me it is a joy to drive through those gates and know I’m going to have a fantastic day. My only complaint is that I wished I’d joined sooner!

Another fantastic lunch at Number 19- this time for Mother’s Day. Great food and great service. Sunday lunches are gorgeous- would recommend the beef. First Class.
Absolutely amazing room .. totally 5 star luxury.. food lovely we did send sauce for steak back . But it was taken off bill

The afternoon tea food was lovely but the staff customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Staff walking around with miserable faces and they never came back to check if we required fresh tea and coffee. We had to get up and ask for it. Staff really need to learn how to smile and look after their customers better �
