Clowne Town Cricket Club Description

Formed in 1878, Clowne Town CC has always played at its current ground on High Leys Road, Clowne. At the time of it's formation there were at least four other cricket teams playing in Clowne and one of these was called Clowne Cricket Club hence the name Clowne Town CC.

Up until the 2000 season the club played most of its cricket in the Bassetlaw Cricket league with the 1st team winning Division 3 in their last year in the league. The 2000 season saw the club join the Derbyshire County Cricket League and move into a new pavilion which had been constructed with the aid of a lottery grant from Sport England.

The club is about to enter it's 140th year with four senior sides in the Derbyshire County League, an U19 T20 team and junior sides at under 11s, 13s and 15s in the North Derbyshire Youth Cricket League.

New members are always welcome whether they be players, social members or are interested in any other activities such as scoring, umpiring, or groundwork
