About Clymping Dog Sanctuary

We take in unwanted and abandoned dogs and also dogs from people who cannot care for them anymore. We take care of them until a forever home is found.

Clymping Dog Sanctuary Description

Clymping Dog Sanctuary was started 51 years ago by Mrs Kathleen Grellier and the then Duchess of Norfolk.

We are a Registered Charity under the Charities Act 1960 - Charity Reg No. 279937

The aim of the sanctuary is to find homes for any waifs and strays or otherwise unwanted dogs, making sure they are properly cared for in the meantime.

The policy of the sanctuary is never to put a clinically healthy dog down, which means we sometimes have a few long term "stayers" until the right owner comes along.

From time to time, we do have dogs that we feel will never be homed, as they have behaviour problems that do not suit the average household. These are the type of dogs that we have a sponsorship scheme for.

It costs an £15 per dog a day to house, feed and care for them - vet bills (which can be huge! ) are on top of this. We receive no funding other than what we receive from donations.

You can help us keep our kennels running and rescuing dogs by donating to the link on our page.

Remember - adopt don't shop - your new best friend could be waiting for you at Clymping.
