How can an Occupational Therapist Help? An occupational therapist can look at what you cannot do physically e. g. your strength, range of movement, balance, coordination and devise a treatment programme or make recommendations to help improve your condition. An occupational therapist can identify things that may make your participation in activities easier such as hand splints, pen grips, cooking utensils, alternative furniture, and housing adaptations. An occupational therapist can also assess the environment you are having difficulty in such as your school, home, or work environments and provide recommendations or interventions to improve your situation.
