Please come along to the healthy living and wellbeing workshop. We will talk through our new menus, talk though our commitments on how we promote healthy living in the nursery and the importance of involving the children, staff and parents. Please try samples of our new menus and take part in activity demonstrating the importance of nutritionally balanced meals and appropriate portion sizes

It's not long now until you find out which school your child will be going to. We would like to invite you to visit our preschool room to show you how we are preparing your child for school including boogie mites, read write and inc, intergenerational care and how we are creating a smooth transition. You can take part in the activities or observe and we can also give you some information to take away. Come in any time during the day!

Recently the children showed some interest in a story called 'Zed's bread" and from this we had a discussion about different types of bread products . Extending on this interest further we made our own bread! This activity encouraged the children's mathematical development as we discussed the measurement and weight of the ingredients. The children also put to practice their gross motor skills as they helped to mix the ingredients whilst learning about healthy living.

Please take a look at our ReMida area in the foyer!
ReMida comes from the Reggio Emillio approach in Italy where centres support children’s creative skills through exploration and discovery and use this as bases to support all other areas of learning and development. ReMida is a way of creatively recycling waste and reusable materials that can then become new and innovative resources. These items can come from the unsold stock and scrap materials of industrial production, unw...anted items or recyclable items from home and natural materials we find in the environment.
The idea of ReMida is for the children to investigate, explore and use their imagination's to look at all the possibilities and ways of using items. A tube, piece of string and some yogurt pots could become a pair of binoculars and a telephone .The children can create patterns using pebbles, pine cones, glass beads, buttons, bottle tops, jewellery pieces , working together to create a large mural investigating the materials and how they can be used. Moulded trays (chocolate insert trays, planting trays) along with smaller resources (beads, buttons etc) can be used for children to sort and organise (colour, size?).
We are always looking for more items to add to our ReMida area. Please bring in some reusable materials if possible. Thank you.

Approximately 5,000 pieces of marine plastic pollution have been found per mile of beach in the UK. Plastic pollution may seem to be an issue which remains at a distance, but in actual fact it is far closer to home than we realise.
Through our One Change campaign, we will be providing co-operative solutions working with colleagues, members and the next generation of co-operators to help tackle single-use plastics.
We want you to think about one change that you can make in your day-to-day life to help tackle the impact of single-use plastics, from using a carrier 'bag for life' to having a reusable water bottle rather than using single-use plastic bottles.

Amazing visit from Sussex Community Rail this morning. We set up a ticket office where the preschool children could practise using money to buy train tickets to different destinations. They learned about rail safety with a story about Thomas the tank engine and made their own model trains.

Our Grasshopper room has a bit of a layout change. Please let us know what you think?! The children have been exploring our new discovery area .

I think this is a perfect place for little human beings to explore, to learn skills, and to get many social experiences. The nursery is purposely built, it has excellent outdoor and indoor facilities. There is a chef that takes care of the dietary requirements and sometimes even does demonstrations of food preparation. The staff is very friendly and carrying. They will find an approach to accommodate everyone: the little babies, toddlers and also their parents. Now you can also receive information online about everyday activities of your little one. Well done!
