We have published a guide for co-ops all about running a successful annual general meeting (AGM). As the AGM is one of the primary ways for members to have their say and hold the board of directors to account, it's important to get this event right. Read and download the guide 👇 #coops

Our members do incredible things - and we love to showcase those co-operatives on this very page. Send us a suitable picture (membership@uk.coop) and we'll feature your co-op as our cover image - with a nice write-up of course - just like this one 👇

Mental health in the workplace is incredibly important. We are delighted to be working with Clinical Director of Wellbeing and Health Promotion at Bupa, Dr Jenny Leeser, to offer a one-day training course to help co-ops protect the mental health and wellbeing of their colleagues. The course covers identification, prevention, support and promotion of positive mental health and wellbeing. Training is priced £150+VAT per person for Co-operatives UK members (£215+VAT non-members).

What is it about co-ops that makes them a better way of doing business? We think that speaking to the people behind co-op businesses is the best way to make the case for co-ops. Read our selection of brill case studies. https://www.uk.coop/about/case-studies #coops

Want to be on the money when it comes to.... well, money! We're running a practical, advanced workshop to help attendees interpret their co-op's management accounts and use that financial information to make informed business decisions. It takes place in Manchester on 26 September and is perfect for directors, management committee members and others overseeing the business. AND we've a superb member rate of £150+VAT (£215+VAT non-members) to attend. #coops

I have just seen an advert on facebook for one of your publications 'Co-operative Company names' I'd like to see a copy because the title horrifies me!!!

Co-operative Societies are totally different organisations, from Companies whether private of PLC's. Does it mean Co-operative 'Society' names. Is it a miss print ??

The Rochdale pioneers must be turning in their graves. The whole reason to establish their Society, was to combat the evils of Capitalism. in short Co-ops Co-operate, Companies compete. Think Border Collie vs. Rabid Hyaena. think Churchill vs. Hitler. For Co-operatives to succeed they need to recognise the enemy. I'll be at the National retail societies Conference in March, perhaps Ed Mayo or someone can bring a copy( If you haven't shreded them all by then !!!

I have been in the co operative party for about 25 years and active within it when i could. Because of where i live that is no.longer possible nor is it achievable to shop at a co-op in my vicinity. However, i do bank with the co-op and have found it to be the best bank i.have ever.used. I am a firm believer in co-operation and it is needed in this unsure world in.which we live now just as much as it was needed in its foundation.

I have been a Co-op member for about 40 years, it's the only way going forward, together.

A great plase to co-operate - like right NOW!

We desperately need a few more votes to help us win a grant of 30,000 Euros in the EOCA awards , which close this morning at 11.00 am. If you can, please vote for our project "Amboro Analogue Forestry" - working with farmer co-ops in Bolivia Please follow the link on the ArBolivia home page!
