We have eaten here quite a few times now and the food has always been really nice. Tonight was no exception. We came here for my birthday and all I can say is that the food was lovely once again. I had the 8oz steak which was cooked perfectly.

The waitresses are really lovely and helpful.

We did have a voucher (50% off food) which took the bill down to under £70, not bad for 6 of us.

I have never been to coast to coast before so didn't know what to expect when we tried it out for lunch today. we had 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 soft drinks & 2 wines. the bill came to £55.00 which we thought was quite reasonable. the food was delicious (calamari, American skins, seafood gumbo & ultimate ribeye). the service was friendly & attentive....we will definitely be returning & recommending

Been about 6 times now, generally it's great value if you have their app and they are offering 50% off normally have pretzel hot bread starter and a medium steak with a blue point beer and when every thing is fresh and hot it's delicious, twice we have had less than hot food but was replaced without fuss.

Went tonight on a birthday meal for six and all food and drinks were perfect, great value, good looking restaurant with cheerful waitresses

Visited on Saturday night, started off fine, was advised we would have about a 40 minute wait so went and had a drink at the bar. My partner and i's first choice drinks were not avaliable so went for the next which were nice. Seated shortly after. A waitress arrived to take our drinks order and i was informed there was no pinot grigio left? None what so ever in the restaurant... i ordered a different type of wine but she had to go and check that was avaliable first. It came to order our meal pretty much all the chicken dishes were unavailable so again had to change my mind on dinner. Food was okay, but to be honest ive had much better at other American chain restaurants. When it came to ordering dessert again we was informed certain ones werent available; however my waffles were delicious.

Sunday late afternoon/early evening after a movie. Had not booked but a table was available straight away service to start with was very prompt and the drinks and food came quickly. Food was good and well presented, after the plates were cleared things went a bit down hill. After waiting almost 20 minutes to be asked about dessert I found a waitress to ask where our waitress had gone, another 10 minutes later I went and found another waitress to ask for a menu. Eventually someone appeared with some menus, we ordered straight away as not to have to wait s further 30 minutes. Again the desserts were very good as was the presentation. If the rating was based on the service we had it would be 1 star but the kitchen staff obviously are good and take pride in what they produce. It is a shame the servers let down the experience of dining there.

Second visit here. Previous time was pre cinema.

This time is was Friday night for dinner and drinks. . 7pm seating, four of us, three on a bench one on a chair with a little square table... no cream for cocktails.. sharing platter was fine, thou im really doubtful of the Buffalo Sauce as it always tastes mostly of vinegar. Mains arrived straight after starter, i mean literily as the starter was cleared. My fajitas were warm outside and cold in middle, completly cooked but cold, obviously had been badly reheated from pre cooked.. undercooked sweet potato fries.. all got nicely reheated, but i wasnt feeling it by then. Place had practically emptied out by 9pm, when happy hour on cocktails starts again :s

Service was friendly. Loads of drinks. Afters was was sweet.

£180 for the privillage even with the voucher.

Go give it a go and make your mind up, no wonder its 50% off food.

First impressions was good.

I had 1 of the famous milk shakes while we waited for our started to come out. Yet again looked great loads of cream on the top and felt like loads of ice cream in the jar.

Took my first taste only to think let down the actual taste of strawberries was only a hint. Basically I was just drinking cream totally let down.

For starter I went for the spicy calamari and I asked for sweet chilli sauce. To be told sorry sir we don't have that sauce.

Fair enough the calamari was very nice just a shame I couldn't have the sauce.

For my main I went with the ribeye steak and sweet photo chips and a tower of onion rings.

As soon as I saw the onion rings I could tell something was wrong they where just soggy looked liked they had only seen the fryer not actually been in it.

Sent them back and every onion ring that went past me looked the same.

Not going well so far.

Ok on to my stake looked delicious but at £24 it should do RIGHT had no flavour and had loads of fat that I couldn't even chew.

Sweet potato chips was very nice though.

Basically I wouldn't waste my time or money going back again.

When we eventually got our drinks they went down so fast as it was like a sauna inside! I ordered bacon and cheese potato skins, these tasted like a like they were fresh out of the microwave (so they were actually hot) then came the main I was looking forward to see how a burger can cost £17..... I struggled to find the burger, I managed to find two hockey pucks and some chewy bacon, the chips looked like oven chips I know when I have got the ones that were stuck to the bottom as some were burnt but others were frozen in the middle (impressed how the hell you managed this!) But if I threw the "burgers" at someone I reckon it would break bones before they broke. So after the traumatic experience of food the staff admitted they rushed the food and were understaffed but can see 3 behind the bar playing candy crush. Understandably I needed the loo, one was a victim to a ring of fire so that was a no go, other had no seat, the disabled toilet smelt like the food that had been cremated in the kitchen. Might as well call the place faulty towers

Went with the Mrs for a bit of lunch. jesus Mary and Joseph please if you have any sense avoid at all costs.

Walked in met by a scruffy foreign cousin wearing jeans and an unironed blazer, seated promptly and our drinks order taken unfortunately this as good as it got. Firstly the waiter comes back to our table to tell us there's a problem with the drinks machine but it's being sorted. A couple of minutes later the barman plonks 2 cokes on our table only to have them swiftly removed by the waiter as they are flat. They are then replaced by bottled coke which is fair enough but why was the barman serving us flat coke?

Then the food if that's what you can call it arrives I had the sliders took a bite into the first one only to find the bun was stale beyond belief I mean to the point if I had taken it out on the street I could have been arrested for carrying an offensive weapon. The wife had a chicken wrap the chicken was almost raw to the point where I'm sure the kiss off life probably would have revived it.

Both meals were removed from the bill and we left paying for 2 drinks and even that was comical as the card machine had ran out of paper . We wasted an hour of our lives that we will never get back we promptly left to go and get something to eat not often you say that after leaving a restaurant.

So please anyone reading this save yourself the agro and go to McDonald's oh and just for good measure it smells bad in there too.

Went here for a nineteenth birthday meal a party of 6 ! Food was ok ,service was ok but very slow as looked understaffed ! Halfway through dinner 2nd round of drinks eventually arrived unfortunately the server dropped a full pint over 2 of us resulting in us being absolutely soaked ! Waitress was very apologetic and tried to be helpful! At to leave my dinner to have a clean up in the restroom ! on returning spilt drinks was replaced ! Birthday cake was then produced then came the bill !!

Very kindly discounted us £20.00 but added on £15.00 service charge we declined this offer ! Instead we applied a discount code we had !

The manager basically said he was to busy to deal with us as he was dealing with drunks all night ! ( I didn’t see any drunks ) ! But has agreed to settle the dry cleaning bill !

We went there for my daughters birthday yesterday ! There was 8 of us and a baby ! I popped in there at 2 in The afternoon to give the restaurant banners balloons a bday badge etc to surprise my daughter ! Also a cake and candles ! I asked them if they could so the table up for her as it was a special birthday ! They said no probs! Upon us arriving at 5.30 all my balloons etc were all shoved under the front desk and they done nothing with them ! Which upset me before we had even sat down ! Then the food was shocking ! Pink chicken and chewy cheap steak ! Considering we would class this as a slightly more expensive restaurant, it wasn’t worth it attal ! We could hear the chef moaning that we was sending food back ! The whole experience was awful and I felt like crying ! As for a special birthday you want everything to be lovely ! And it was far from that ! The manager halved the bill and said sorry ! But that nice birthday dinner we hoped for was ruined the only good thing about the night was the waitress ! She was bubbly and tried her best for us ! But you cannot polish a lol !!! Will never go back ! Should of had Mac Donald’s instead lol

This was our first time in a Coast to Coast restaurant and we were extremely disappointed. The service was ok and our waitress polite, but the food was poor. The only thing I wanted off the menu wasn't available so I ordered a Florida salad. It definitely wasn't worth over £12 for a bit of chicken on top of rocket which was covered in a greasy dressing that was supposed to be maple and lemon; it did not taste like that at all to me. The waitress was apologetic and got me a fresh one without the dressing, but the whole meal was bland and not value for money at all. I was left still hungry. My husband had a burger that was ok although the chips were only just cooked, but it seemed my children got the better deal with their huge pizzas that I only paid £7.50 for. I decided on dessert only to be told that they couldn't make the cookie dough sundae I'd asked for, for some reason . Something was definitely against me today and for my first visit at the restaurant I don't feel in a rush at all to go back.

User

The one star is just for the starter share platter. That is where the promise of good food ended.

For a good Friday there was a fair amount of people in there for an early evening, which looked a good sign. Seated quickly, food a drink order was taken in a decent amount of time. All was going well. The sharer platter came out and tasted as good as it looked. Once done and table cleared, again the mains came out at a reasonable time later. This is where the magic stopped.

The fries were over cooked, chewy and hard on the outside. The burgers were processed and full of oil/grease. The cheese in my burger was liquid cheese which had no taste and was all kinds of wrong. Suffice tobetween me and my Misses we pretty much left both our meals.

No question was asked of us as to what was wrong with the meal. £62 later with drinks we were left let down and disappointed. This was over priced for the quality of food served. In general the menu is overpriced so I'd recommend this as a treat or special occasions venue.

The evens events:

Booked a table for half past 7 for a party of 8. First party member arrives at 7.25. Host says 2 minutes and the table will be sorted go wait at the bar. 15 minutes later with more party guests going to meet straight at the bar the same party member goes to host to see how long it will be. Erm blank expression...... what was the name? Another 15 minutes goes by before any sort of seating in the back of the restaurant is set up on two separate tables (obviously forgot that a party has been booked in so let's sit them anywhere). Another 20 minutes goes by before the drinks order was taken. Two drinks forgotten. On return of the two forgotten drinks the starter order is taken, but no the manager/waiter forgot to get some paper and a pen. Nope sorry we don't have any ribs in tonight. So orders taken happy days. Half past 9 comes along granted there had been one or two drinks orders taken here or there and a drink or two forgotten again, a different waitress comes to the table to say there's none of these starters available today what else would you like. Yay starters turn up. Nope no sour cream for the loaded skins available we have run out. OK no problem these things happen sometimes. Apologies for the delay please have a round of drinks on us..... Mains turn up burger meals are fine but the chips are almost raw in the centre. Two meals come out with less chips then a McDonald happy meal and less then half a breast of chicken each. (almost £16 for four bites of a meal not on. ) nope that goes straight back and and ends up coming back with the proper sized portion of chicken like the menu shows and a mountain of undercooked chips almost as an insult. So time for the free drinks order for waiting nearly 3 hours to get to the end of the meal. Drinks orders taken waiting no time at all to get them to our table. Yet again another drink has been forgotten. Wait another 10 minutes to get the attention of the manager/waiter while he cleans the table next to us, call him over erm I'm missing my peach tea from our drinks order you took earlier. No problem I'm sorry for that il go get it myself now. Thank you not a problem. Yay 3 and a half hours and the event / entertainment is over. Don't get me wrong my meal was rather tasty if not a bit raw on the potato side. But the overall speed and all round service / quality of some of the meals was shocking tonight.

That's the ins and outs of our evening at coast to coast Basildon.

Managed to book a table on a Sunday afternoon with half hours notice (should have been sign). We both ordered a cheese burger and sweet potato fries and buffalo wings. The food came quickly, however, the cheese looked plastic and wasn't melted on the burger, (was clearly a presliced piece of cheese), the burger was clearly not hand made and had little flavour, although a big burger we both didn't finish due to disappointing quality, not because we was full. The fries were ok and the wings ok. Won't be back as there are much better places to spend £40 on a meal.

It saddens me to give such a low rating as I live in Norfolk and often visit the Norwich restaurant and love it there. Had such a bad experience from the begging as they didn't even have our reservation we made. We then ordered our meals, two of us ordered steak to be rare and medium rare, they both came over cooked and mine was even burnt. Also we ordered a child's chicken fajitas to come with no peppers or onions, and an adults chicken fajitas. The child's came out with peppers and onions and when changed then came out with no wraps and we then waited 20 mins to receive the adults chicken fajitas after being told the chefs had messed up the order, Which came with no salsa and then when asked where the salsa was we were told they didn't have any. Why sell something without the main ingredients?? In all it wasn't a very good experience which is sad because like I said when we visit coast to coast in Norwich we have a perfect meal and service every time, can safely say we won't be visiting again due to this experience!

User

Had to give one star as there wasn’t an option for zero stars. Where to begin... if you enjoy finding hair your starters this is the place for you. I wouldn’t say I’d recommend the burgers unless you want to eat the bun and go for a game of hockey later as the burgers themselves are only useful as a hockey puck. I would also like to warn you if you order a calzone you will be served a pizza, best bet is to eat it when you point out the mistake your replacement comes out well presented however I can only assume there is a cow out back that they cut the meat off and serve it without cooking, I like tomato sauce but there was none only a dribble of blood from the again uncooked meat. Dessert was the best part of the meal for me... but that was mostly down to us not ordering any (wasn’t worth the risk) I felt beat to relieve myself before leaving however this presented a new challenge the left over skid marks on the seat itself I imagine is from a fellow diner that had uncontrollable tummy issues following their meal, toilet number two was much cleaner however you can imagine my shock as I sat down and nearly ended up in a rather compromising position when I forgot to check if there was even a seat on the toilet. However with all that’s bad I am delighted to say they were most happy to remove the almost £40 service charge when the bill was presented (on top of 6 meals that had to be taken off) I would much recommend McDonald’s over coast to coast at least there you expect a shit meal but don’t have to worry about a remortgage for prices.

User

Food was rubbish, overpriced. My daughter has multiple allergies and they were extremely unhelpful and acted as though she was a nuisance to them. Every single restaurant I have been in with her, they have accommodated something for her to eat there, but this restaurant seemed to treat it like it's not a common occurrence. One of the waiters comments was 'I doubt the chef can do that' when I asked if they could simply do a plain chicken breast for my 3 year old.

Our bill came and they had over charged us for drinks and desserts that my children hadn't even received. Will not be returning
