Coastal Transit Services was set up in 2014 as the operational side of The British Hovercraft Company. We provide small hovercraft for hire which quite simply remove the problem of accessing intertidal areas. Our Marine Air cushion Vehicles (MACV's) take your crew straight from the beach or riverbank to where they need to be, whether it's for Intertidal & Nearshore Survey Work, environmental monitoring, archaeology, sampling, animal and bird counts or habitat survey.

Our MACV's can easily access all intertidal areas such as mudflats, saltings, soft Sand, estuaries, beaches or flood water. Depth (or lack of depth! ) are no problem in a machine which flies a foot above the surface and is immune to striking either marine animals or obstructions. There is quite simply - 'no beach out of reach! '
