Coatenhill Canoes run canoe building workshops in rural Northumberland. Over the course of four days we will help you build your own canoe. No prior woodworking knowledge is required, although having some helpers makes it easier and more fun! All the tools and materials required will be provided.
This three and a half day workshop will guide budding canoeists through the step by step process of constructing their own craft. All the materials and tools are provided, so all you need to do is turn up.
After four days you will have a unique sense of achievement and an elegant wooden canoe, at half the cost of commercial boats. It is fun for two people to paddle and has a good carrying capacity, with room for an extra passenger, a picnic or luggage for multi- day expeditions (the canoe is 5 metres long and has an 80cm beam).
Run in the picturesque north Pennines the. No prior wood working knowledge is required. The build is methodical and broken down into easy to follow steps, using simple tools and techniques. This is the perfect project for families and friends to build together.
