Look at this article on the BBC site. Are you sufficiently trained and prepared?
Much better to plan for failure than failure to plan. Backup is not a dirty word!

If it can happen to Baltimore Government then it can happen to you. How do you filter your email? Whats the most recent spam you have seen. Ours was an employee email HR to ask them to change his bank details before payrol ran!

We, at Cobalt towers, are looking for a new staff member and the times will fit perfectly around the School run. We will even give you 13 weeks holiday a year so you can tell your friends you’re a Teacher! Feel free to share far and wide!

Be aware of lots of very clever phishing emails. The Russians are using an old yahoo password database to tell you about certain things they know about you. Delete, Delete, Delete.
I kind of miss the, bigger boobs, viagra and a lady who loves me very much and wants to show me her bits, emails. All of our details are out there and can but put together.
This is called Spear Phishing because its more targeted. ... Remember these guys do this as a full time job!

It doesn’t have to look like this!!
Wires are needed but we can tidy them. As part of a PC clean up in your office, we can route and tidy the cables to make them as discreet as possible. Not a mess to catch your eye, or a leg!
... Post below your messiest or tidiest cables.

As part of a clean up and installing proper antivirus we also clean out the inside. Even if it doesn’t need doing..... From only £45.00 including the security checkup and software.

This was sent to our MD Ian today.
How would you react? Did you actually do it or get caught......
He is an angel or he knows how to protect networks so knew its a scam. Would you?
... cobalt one of your passphrase. Lets get right to purpose. You may not know me and you're probably wondering why you are getting this email? No one has paid me to investigate you.
Let me tell you, I setup a software on the xxx vids (sexually graphic) web site and you know what, you visited this web site to experience fun (you know what I mean). While you were viewing videos, your browser started functioning as a RDP that has a key logger which gave me accessibility to your screen as well as web cam. after that, my software program gathered your complete contacts from your Messenger, FB, as well as e-mail . And then I made a double video. 1st part shows the video you were viewing (you have a nice taste lmao), and next part displays the view of your cam, yeah its you.
You have got a pair of solutions. We are going to look at these options in details:
Very first solution is to neglect this message. In this case, I most certainly will send your actual video clip to all of your personal contacts and then visualize about the disgrace you feel. And consequently in case you are in an important relationship, exactly how it will certainly affect?
2nd option will be to give me $2000. We are going to describe it as a donation. Consequently, I will straightaway remove your video. You could keep your way of life like this never took place and you will not ever hear back again from me.
You'll make the payment through Bitcoin (if you don't know this, search "how to buy bitcoin" in Google).
BTC Address: 1D3yDTzCwP2tsbVNpq2FvenD98cNNfktYH [CASE-sensitive, copy & paste it]
Should you are making plans for going to the cop, well, this e-mail cannot be traced back to me. I have taken care of my moves. I am just not trying to charge you so much, I prefer to be paid.
You now have one day to make the payment. I have a specific pixel within this email message, and right now I know that you have read through this e-mail. If I do not receive the BitCoins, I will definately send out your video to all of your contacts including close relatives, coworkers, and so forth. Nevertheless, if I receive the payment, I'll destroy the recording right away. If you want to have evidence, reply Yeah and I will certainly send your video recording to your 11 contacts. It is a non-negotiable offer, so don't waste my personal time and yours by responding to this email message.

10 new Wi-fi meshed access points being installed for a new stock system. Trying out a new 240v mains wireless socket. That’s not going so well.

Don’t always jump to a reaction from an email or link. The clever hackers are trying to annoy or worry you to get their desired response. #havemultiplepasswords.

This made up scenario is becoming increasingly common. Most go unreported as the businesses don’t want to admit they got it wrong!
Who thinks this could happen to them?
Cyber-attack! Would your firm handle it better than this? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-4448 2380

A picture taken off a BBC article about rural theft. This farmer has installed a new CCTV system. Ummmm. No ones falling for a fake camera anymore!

10 million people. Change your passwords if you use one for a few different sites and have ever shopped at DSG.
Whats worse is I have just logged in and there is no reminder or anything to say change your password. It only takes 5 clicks but isn't even on the main screen.
