It's encouraging to see continued diversification of guitar players and that young women now make up half of people starting to learn how to play the guitar.
A new study has found that females now account for 50% of the market for beginner guitar players in the UK and US.

The largest Music Therapy study in the world is bringing music to the forefront of treatment options for people with dementia and depression.
In this new global study, researchers hope to improve the quality of life for patients, their families and carers - through the power of music to make people happier!

This fascinating article shows how empaths (people who deeply grasp the pain or joy of other people) process music differently. The study shows that music is not simply a form of artistic expression or entertainment but a universal language that may have evolved to help humans interact, communicate, and understand one another.

Music’s place in the secondary curriculum continues to be precariously balanced or disappearing from the curriculum altogether, according to recent research.

We were delighted to receive a very generous contribution of £100, following a recent Bournemouth Guitar Orchestra performance at Flirt Cafe Bar
The BGO are fantastic supporters of our work and we're hugely appreciative to them and also the staff and customers of Flirt for this fantastic contribution.
Thank you so much for donating to Coda Music Trust – every penny is appreciated and helps to enrich and improve lives.

A great little study from 'Trust Me, I'm A Doctor' which highlights the positive effect of singing. As well as increasing the levels of mood-improving chemicals in the body, it increases feelings of happiness.

Music Quiz at The Amberwood Inn Thursday 1st November 7.30pm Teams of 4-6 (max 6) £3 per head (just quiz) or... £8 per head (quiz and Ploughmans)
Following the huge success of the last two events, The Amberwood Inn will be holding another Music Quiz in support of Coda on Thursday 1st November.
Coda Trustee Tim Clarke will be the quizmaster, ably assisted by our very own Phil Hallett and, as usual, the quiz will feature questions on music from across genres and decades with some fun themed rounds.
Tickets are just £3 for the quiz or £8 if you would like a Ploughman's with your quiz (Ploughman's must be ordered in advance - not available on the night unless you have purchased the £8 ticket in advance!). All tickets available to buy directly from The Amberwood Inn.
Teams of up to a maximum of 6 are recommended and there will be a cash prize for the winning team.
Please come along and enjoy a fun night at the pub whilst raising valuable funds for a worthwhile local charity!
If you would like to join in, please pick up your tickets from The Amberwood Inn (we can't guarantee spaces on the door on the night so please purchase your tickets in advance as this also helps The Amberwood to know expected numbers). You can either pop in or contact them directly for tickets on 01425 272627
So start brushing up on your music knowledge and we hope to see you at The Amberwood Inn on 1st November!
