Coffee

All good relationships need some independence built in, and that's what our motto is when it comes to coffee. We will let you enjoy gorgeous brews while with us - but will also aim to equip you with the tools and the know-how needed to make great coffee (and tea) at home, for yourself and your loved ones. Viva espresso! And viva replicable techniques!

You will be able to ask baristas questions at our exciting brew bar, sample different coffees, and appreciate how differently very same beans can taste when prepared using different methods.

It goes without saying that all coffee will be fairly traded and freshly roasted, we will also invite over guest roasters for demos and talks and to showcase and taste their beans.

All the equipment we use in store will be available to buy in store along with loose beans and teas.


Cake

We have a thing for finger-licking cakes (and delicious savoury snacks) and we intend to shamelessly indulge. So no fancy little desserts for us - bring on the real deal, yummy wholesome stuff that feeds the body and the soul both. . . The kind that makes you want to run your finger around the mixing bowl, right after dough comes out.

We will have lots of events geared to home baking, including classes and talks, as well as books on baking and baking accessories to buy.

Kisses

What the kiss is to us is a relationship symbol, and not a single act.

We embrace all aspects of them, the heart, the body and the mind.

Where else might one discuss platonic love, while also embracing ars amandi? Where else might one work, in comfort, on contemporary relationship issues - sex, gender, poly, sex education reform being currently championed in the parliament? Where else might one welcome discussion of difficult topics while indulging in culinary delights? (You wouldn't believe the effect of cake when emotions run high! )
