Colin Freeman 100+ Wetherspoons

Colin Freeman is visiting 100 or more Wetherspoon pubs around the country, so here will be the incite to his trips.

Starting with the Old Manor in Bracknell 1993, I have travelled to over 100 Wetherspoons around England and a couple in Wales.

But have I travelled to your local one ?


Why Wetherspoons ?

Not just the affordable prices

I knew nothing about JD Wetherspoon when the Old Manor in Bracknell
changed in 1993 and I didn't drink real ale back then. In drinking there
over the years, with the choice, I started trying real ale, which was what
Wetherspoon was all about. These 110 ( when writing this may 2017 ) of JDW
pubs I've visited were mostly around places I was visiting for short
breaks, but I did go well out of my was a few times.

In more resent times Wetherspoons have turned there back a bit on real
ales and trying to promote modern Craft Beers ( non real ale and lagers ),
but after a lot of thought, I still started to go to more of there pubs.

Oh I am now a small share holder now.


What Next

I am a bit limited on budget as not a lot of work in my main job or
“Present Coins from the Past” , but I do have plans to visit a few more,
maybe another 10 this year. There are still some local Wetherspoons that I
haven't been to and one of them expects a visit soon.
