In the Reptile Room - The Colorado River Toad. #didyouknow they can live to around 20 years old in the wild and their main form of defence is secreting poison through glands in their skin. It is not usually strong enough to kill a human, but it could make you very ill if ingested. Don’t go licking toads!!

User

thank you for the lovely experience for me my wife, kids and mom and dad we loved it one of the best places we've been in ages the staff were great my wife loved the sea lion experience (not seal ) and the feeding the lion great place

User

We visited today and thought the place was great. Love the steep slopes and hills, gives a feeling of a large space and hidden dinosaurs at every turn. Beautiful ferns and fauna giving the illusion of a prehistoric era which works well with the robotic dinosaurs. Loved different animals spaced around the walking track. Hard with a buggy but not impossible and we enjoyed the hills for a workout! Kids happy with the soft play area which is really big and good fun, we got in there with them. Lots of time there. Had lunch at the cafe on site, basic edible fair, all happy. Really enjoyed it here and noted the staff were all very polite and accommodating which is nice. Lovely Setting and the kids loved it. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

User

We have been today with two children aged 5 and 7 and had a lovely day out. The staff are super friendly, the food is reasonable and the park is fabulous. I read other reviews and was quite put off but I’m so glad we ignored them and went for it! It wasn’t run down and we would highly recommend . We will be back :)

User

Visited today with my mother in law and my children (aged 15, 12 and 11) most definitely worth the money, quite hilly but no rush to get around as plenty of notice at what times the talks are on, can get closer to the animals than at a well known zoo, the Sea Lion Show was AMAZING and well worth the watch. The train journey was really good too

User

Myself and my two children (age 4&7) had a lovely day here today. Lucky for us it was very quiet,as it was a non pupil day for our school. The staff were helpful,I loved the fact that the new play area is actually staffed and rules are in place. Lots for them to and we spent the whole day there. Food in the cafe was lovely and reasonably priced.

User

Mint place for kids big enclosures for the animals which is good for them I go bk wen next at my caravan only down full is you can’t really see lions as there usually rite in corner of the end of closure we’re u cant go and see if they built something high up so you could look down on them maby be better other then that mint place I recommend it to eny 1

User

Loved our visit here! Dinosaurs were cool. And got to see some animals I'd never seen before! (The baboons and racoons) son loved the train and the added effect at the end was brilliant! Highly recommend! And would definitely go back if in the area again!

User

It's a great place for kids, we went yesterday, both kids really enjoyed the animals and dinosaurs. Being able to go the meerkat enclosure for feeding was a treat. The soft play area is great for when it gets a bit damp

User

I love this place purely for the wolves, was delighted to see 5 pups, was a little disappointed they didn’t have a bit more water in their enclosure just a dried up mud patch with a trickle of water coming down the hill.

User

Don’t no how people can give this place a bad review, I was delighted with our day at the park, it’s was a lovely day out with all the family and kids loved it. Animals were in lovely natural environments and very well looked after. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Excellent dinasour effects and a great effective dinasour habitat. The sea lion show was definetly one to watch again ! Excellent !! Would definetly come back and visit again worth every penny. A excellent soft play area to. To finish the day off !!

User

Brilliant day out with 4 kids, ages 2-9. Enough to do for all. Although a warning it is very steep in some places so your leg muscles get a good workout at the same time as exploring the park. But that didn’t stop us having a fabulous time!

User

Brilliant day out today. Surprisingly quiet for a bank holiday weekend. Amazing sea lion show. The kids loved the meerkat experience and dinosaurs. Soft play well kept. Train ride hilarious fun with the splash at the end. Definitely recommend. Be aware it’s very hilly to walk and the entrance to the car park is the same

User

We had a super family day out at the Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park. From the beginning at admissions right through to the final talk, nothing was too much trouble. The keepers were very knowledgeable especially the wolves/lion talk and sea lion/penguin as they were up to date on current studies and conservation of their species. The photo opportunity was a nice touch and again nothing was too much trouble, we felt very welcome. The place was clean, tidy and you could see that a lot of investment had been and continued to be made. We will definitely be coming back as we got there at 11am, left at 5pm and still could of done/seen more. Keep up the good work. Coombe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park you’re doing great. Due to the hilly area it’s not good for manual wheelchairs, unless you have a strong/fit person to push you!

User

Was our first visit & we will be back.! My kids are aged 7,12,13 & it was a good day out.! Staff so so friendly & lots of different animals & more animals than other zoos.! The train ride at the end is a must for all

Ages as a good surprise at the end to cap off a great day out. Only thing I would recommend the staff would introduce is head sets for all the staff doing the talks instead of just the sea lion show as if stood further back, you may struggle to hear the talk. Overall a great day out with family.

User

Took our 2 year old for the day - she loved it. A lot of up and down steep hills to walk so hold on to pushchairs ! Train ride was a hit but £1 per person extra . Sea lion display great and lots for a little person to see . The Egyptian tombs are a bit too scary for little ones but there’s no warning ! Nice day out for the price would recommend :)

User

This was our second visit...went with another couple and kids 2,4,5 and 7..all thoroughly enjoyed it and was ultimate dino experience for the younger ones. Will definitely return again. sea lion show and lions made it too especially for the adults...my son whose pirate obsessed couldn’t help but spot the parrots that were flying about around the park! great day 😁

User

Our 2nd visit here was a very enjoyable day out. Friendly staff. The dinosaur park animation is really good and the monkey part too. The sea lion 'show' very informative, it's more for excerising the sea lions than entertaining us apparently but that is an added extra. We also won the raffle at the show for a free 'Meet the Sea Lions' experience, which my granddaughter was cautiously happy about. I hope they get the funds they need to help the Amur Leopards. Will definately go again.

User

I was surprised that there was a lot to do at this park for your money - we easily spent 3 hours on site and went round a few times. the gift shop seemed pricier but the food was well priced in facts nice portions especially the baguette bar. The sea-lion show was a neat addition and the dinosaur experience was ok, the live dino show seemed a little drab especially when only 1 of the models moved. All in all the weather was good and it was a fun thing to do on holiday. Only issue would be pram users and elderly as its very steep in some places and was a work out for us even though we went round 3 times. PS also 2 real peacocks strolling around - one of our party has a bird phobia so we kinda of ducked around them lol.

User

Visited there yesterday as a treat for my 3 year old son. As a first impression the whole place could do with some serious investment to freshed it up. The car parks where a bit of a trek, especially if your on the top car park. Very step slopes not especially family friendly and if you have a pram, be ready for a challenging walk to return to the car. Walking down was not very aesthetically pleasing as it looked like you were wondering past a building site with rubbish discarded everywhere. Entrance cost are reasonable but only as my wife had found a discount voucher online.

Right, the dinosaurs although were a novelty as it was our first visit, looked a little dilapidated and when you 3 year old was constantly asking why aren't they roaring I had to answer I have idea. So some of the displays had push buttons that obviously were suppose to initiate a recorded sound but never worked. The train ride was good, charged at an additional £1 each in addition to the park entry, which doesn't break the bank. The condition of the train was ok but when the driver hands you a tarpaling sheet to prevent you getting wet you have to ask is this fit for purpose (sorry to be a kill joy).

I think the biggest concern for the wife and myself would have to be the welfare of the animals specifically the Hudson Bay wolves. With roughly half a dozen of them the enclosure which seemed inadequate to allow they the roam and keep them occupied, their personas reflect this as they looked thoroughly uninterested and bored. The lion enclosure although slightly bigger, the lion in the demonstration enclosure looked just as bored as the wolves.

I would say the one saving grace was the indoor soft play area which my son loved. The only criticism would be of this area is wasn't fully secure, there were 3 exits to the soft play area(the actual area itself not the building it was located in) if you didn't have your wits about yourself the little ones could easily walk out the building especially as the slide door to the building wasn't always closed.

I would have to say overal i was a little unimpressed with the visit, if it wasn't for my son wanting to see the dinosaurs i would have called the day a washout. I wouldn't return to Martin Combe Wildlife and Dinosaur park again unless serious investment had been ploughed into this place.
