Comic Worlds

Comic Worlds was started in 1993 by Mark Brunton and Mark Willoughby in an upstairs room at 22 West Parade.
Then In Aug 1994 we were able to move downstairs into 20 West Parade -- the building being two houses knocked into one, owned by David Glew the architect whose office occupied the top of the building. (Different businesses occupied various other rooms).
In Sept 1998 the shop (originally called New Worlds) merged with Comic Carnage in Portland st, owned by Alan Bratt. After two years, Mark Brunton took over the shop and brought it back to West parade as Comic Worlds. That was 2001.
Ten years later, the landlord, David Glew retired. He tried to sell the building as an ongoing business, but sadly with no takers, it became student flats. Mark decided to try Lincoln central market. The more central location has proved a success.
