Hello everyone, In light of the outbreak of coronavirus, we’ve taken the difficult decision to cancel our tournament on 28 March. Please contact I for ticket refunds. Sorry to disappoint all the boxers and families – as soon as things settle down, we’ll announce a new date.
Meantime, classes are running as normal. We routinely disinfect headguards between uses, however at present, we strongly advise you to purchase your own gloves. We have a range of gloves available to buy from the gym, at special prices.Stay safe

Get ready for another night of fun, frolics and boxing entertainment at the East Midland’s best boxing gym! Sat 28th March will be the next big tournament fixture for the Commonwealth Boxing Academy and all our friends in the local community. Drawing on the success of our inaugural event last November, our first tournament in 2020 for both children and adults will be bigger and better than ...ever. You’ll be able to see all the action on a big screen and we’ve already had interest from two regional gyms whose competitors are training hard to take part. We would love to see greater numbers than ever of our own students fighting on the night. It’s a unique opportunity to demonstrate your boxing prowess and technique, and improve your confidence and performance by stepping up there into the big ring.
There will also be music plus food and drinks for sale on the night.

Our first ever boxing tournament in Nov 2019 ignited the interest of our entire community. You wanted more? We’re happy to oblige - get ready for the Commonwealth Boxing Academy’s first inter-gym tournament of 2020 for kids and adults on Saturday 7 March.
Our first tournament fixture of the year, hosted by the region’s premier boxing establishment and led by ‘#thatsthe1’ Ovill McKenzie, promises to be bigger and better than ever. We cater to every age and ability in our gym..., whether you have championship potential, are a complete novice or are boxing for fitness. Taking part in our events gives you the chance to shine, demonstrating progress, building confidence as well as having a great time with friends. We also welcome competitors from other boxing clubs - if you want to join us, we want to hear from you.
You can expect great boxing, the best jamaican food prepared by the man himself, lively tunes and a late bar. Tickets available to pre-order on a first come basis. Contact Ovill for more details.

Reminder to everyone that the Commonwealth Boxing Academy is open for free through to Wednesday 1 January 2020 as a big thank you to all my clients for your support throughout the years. We are not open today due to a private party - sorry for any inconvenience. Open again tomorrow (Saturday) at 10am for kids, and on Sunday at 10am for kids and 11am for adults. Monday we are open at 6pm, Tuesday at 11am and Wednesday at 11am. See you there. Ovill.

Our first ever boxing tournament for kids and adults showcasing skills 🥊🎖️🏅🏆🎁🥊

A new chapter dawns for the Commonwealth Boxing Academy following an amazing turnout for our first inter-gym tournament, for kids and adults, held last night (Saturday 30 November). Friends from near and far came out to support us, watch some great boxing and have a relaxed night with good company. A special thank you to our friends from the Jacksdale Boxing Club who also took part in our tournament. The community spirit and atmosphere was electric and spurred on our fighte...rs to do themselves proud in the ring. Last night, everyone was a winner!
You’ve said you want more – so watch this space as we look ahead to 2020 to make the Commonwealth Boxing Academy a regular fixture for boxing events in our community.
And please do tell your friends and neighbours – we have classes at the gym everyday plus ,1:2:1 training for boxing technique and specific fitness goals.

It’s finally here – the BIG 40! Thanks to everyone for all my birthday wishes. I’m saving the celebrations – and the cake! - for our first inter-gym boxing tournament this Saturday, 30 November. Kids and adults showcasing all they’ve learned throughout the year. Great boxing, homemade food and good company. It’s going to be a special night. Doors open 5:30pm .
