Community Advice And Support Service (Cass+)

Each month, we support around 150 people in need of a helping hand as they go through the courts in Plymouth, Truro, Bodmin & Newton Abbot, & into life beyond. We aim to keep people out of the revolving doors of the courts & reduce the risk of re-offending. We never judge. We will go the extra mile to help anyone facing the magistrates' courts in Newton Abbot, Plymouth, Bodmin and Truro. Uniquely placed inside the court waiting areas, we can support people with the complex, underlying reasons for being at court, especially when they do not qualify for Legal Aid. From our hubs inside the magistrates' courts, our compassionate, trusted, & experienced advisors are ready to guide anyone through a frightening, complicated & traumatic experience. This way, people can make their own choices & changes towards a more a positive future. By working with everyone in our community, from magistrates to local services, we respond quickly with the right emotional & practical help, resulting in more stable lives & reduced risk of re-offending, ultimately benefiting everyone across Devon & Cornwall. We make our community better for everyone by ensuring…… advice and support with court proceedings… referrals for help to long-term specialist services… a helping hand along the way, for as long as we're needed
