Community Legal Service

We are a Community Interest Company set up to help fill the gap left by the withdrawal of ‘legal aid' and other public funding in a number of different areas of civil law. As lawyers driven by social responsibility we seek to empower people who face legal problems. For free, we will assess the merits of a case, give advice and guidance on the law and advise on options going forward. In the last twelve months we have serviced some 300 employment law clients and in excess of 550 social security law clients. Community Legal Service is the new way of delivering quality, specialist legal advice and representation. We ensure everyone, whether with or without funds, has access to legal representation and justice. We represent people who receive welfare benefits and those who have just lost their jobs, both of which are usually without any financial ability to pay traditional solicitor fees or for that matter any fees at all. To those people we invite you to talk to us, we will almost certainly be able to help. We work with a number of different groups including: Citizens Advice Bureau's, The Red Cross, Community Voluntary Services and a number of other community and charity based organisations. For each we act as the next level, from their general advice to our specialist legal advice and representation. To other community based organisations, we invite you to contact us to see how we can support the delivery of legal advice and representation to your clients and help you meet your delivery targets. We will even donate funds or resources back to your organisation.
