... This tour is based on the beautiful Mediterranean Island positioned between France and Italy with breathtaking scenery as far as the eye can see. Mountainous regions and in contrast white sandy beaches, with clear blue sea. There are miles of winding off-road tracks that take us to some of the most beautiful beaches. The tour is designed to be a gentle adventure through one of the Mediterranean's best kept secrets. You find mountains as high as the Alps, valleys that are jaw dropping and a spectacular coastline. Set on the western Mediterranean trade routes, Corsica has always been of strategic and commercial appeal. Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans came in successive waves, driving native Corsicans into the interior. The Romans were ousted by Vandals, and for the following thirteen centuries the island was attacked, abandoned, settled and sold as a nation state, with generations of islanders fighting against foreign government. In 1768 France bought Corsica from Genoa, but nearly two-and-half centuries of French rule have had a limited effect and the island’s Baroque churches, Genoese fortresses, fervent Catholic rituals and a Tuscan-influenced indigenous language and cuisine, show a more profound affinity with Italy. ​ Our journey starts Bastia as we head north taking in the coast road and head for our first trail. The campsite will be spectacular where you will tucked away in a private coves and be able to camp right on the sea shore. We will explore the more rural part of Corsica and as we step back in time we will head into the desert roads which twist and turn there way down to white sandy beaches which are inaccessible without a four wheel drive. Wow! Where to start?

I'm an absolute novice when it comes to (real) off-road driving.

I decided to take the plunge (pardon the pun!) and go on a trip with Bob Seaborn at Compass Adventures.

Bob and his regulars 'baby-sat' me through some tough terrain and in the meantime showed me how to actually use and enjoy my own car.

If you've been fancying taking your 4x4 on a genuine adventure, I would highly recommend Compass.

As a famous company once said; just do it!!

Wales weekend 18/19 November was a great weekend. Well organised and we were really looked after and some great lanes located and driven. Really had an enjoyable weekend

Thanks guys for a great weekend up north Yorkshire and the Lakes, was great off roading with great people and stunning views. Hope to do another weekend away soon ��

Just got back from the Yorkshire and Lake District trip with my youngest daughter who is 5 years old, absolutely loved it both of us. We're now looking at doing further trips.



Highly recommended even with young children, Bob was very helpful and made everyone feel welcome. I will be returning very shortly.

Just done the Yorkshire to Lake District explorer, what a great trip. Well organised, great lanes and we met some great people. Would highly recommend doing a trip with Compass Adventures. Looking forward to doing the Corsica trip in August. Great to catch up with Bob again and thanks for a fantastic weekend.

Just completed my 1st trip with compass through the dales and lakes. And what a trip it was!

From meeting bob and the group Saturday morning, bob took the time to speak to everyone and take in interest in their trucks. We then embarked on some great tracks in tough conditions.

Our group was soon working as a team, and as a solo traveller was made very welcome.

Great camping conditions, fire, beers and stories made for a great Saturday night.

Sunday brought more of the same but with a completely different terrain, which made for a great well organised weekend. I cannot recommend compass adventures enough and will be sure to join another trip at some point!

Just completed Compass’ Yorkshire and Lakes explorer weekend - and what a cracking time we had!



Although a well-seasoned off-roader, I used this trip to shakedown a new Discovery and camping trailer before an upcoming trip to the Pyrenees. Neither car or trailer had seen anything other than tarmac before, but Bob took this in his stride and was able to advise knowledgeably, and provide extra help spotting me through tight gateways and the like.



The tracks, and views are simply amazing, and Bob’s experience second-to-none. A ‘must-see’ - thanks Bob!

I turned up on the first day of the Yorkshire tour in a completely stock Nissan Terrano having never done any proper green laning before at the side of 6/7 other trucks with size thirty god knows what tyres. I fully expected to be a burden for the weekend, I couldn’t have been more wrong.



We started with some fairly straight forward tracks which I was comfortable with then after lunch Bob explained the next track was more difficult with a large step in it and not to worry and positioned me in-between two people with a winch. When I arrived at the step the three vehicles in front had already stopped and everyone had got out to help build up the step and guide me through it. I somehow managed to get up first time.



On the second day with the help of Bob and others in the group I managed things I didn’t think were possible. With their knowledge of the tracks I made it up every step and managed to not get stuck or need winching once, despite the icy conditions.



I felt very welcome despite having the least capable vehicle, everyone was extremely helpful, Bob, Chris and Rolf really know their stuff about the tracks and the vehicles, just listen to any of them and you won’t go far wrong. Can’t wait for the Mid Wales trip in January.

Having booked a trip with Bob of Compass adventures we wasn’t really sure what to expect, Previously spending time driving lanes with friends or alone in my disco 2 years back.

With my 110 now finished it made sense to give it a shake down. Upon arrival Bob promptly went through the plan of the 2 days (To drive lanes in Yorkshire and end up in the lakes on the following day). The trip was well planned out with fantastic hospitality on the Saturday evening.

I believe Bobs knowledge of the local area to be second to none.

We will certainly be joining Compass adventures on more trips in the near future!

Had a great weekend in Yorkshire/Lakes trip. Bob gave us a great introduction into greenlaning and nothing was too much bother. Will definitely join another trip and can't recommend enough.

Great weekend with Bob and Anne in Yorkshire and the Lake District. The trip was well thought out for families, with a good mix of green lanes to suit the capabilities of the vehicles and drivers. Visits to local landmarks and attractions between the lanes to keep it interesting for all of us on the trip. Everything was done at a sensible pace and Bob's knowledge of the area brings the trip to life.

Great company round the camp fire in the evenings and the campsites were excellent. Good facilities, toilets, showers and stunning locations.

Not my first trip with Compass Adventures and we will be back to do more!

First trip out with Bob & Compass, great bunch, made to feel very welcome. Two groups led professionally by Bob and Paul (PB Customs), variety of vehicles from heavily modified to completely standard. Brilliant weekend, it won’t be my last!

Did the Wales Explorer with Bob which was superb!! He is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, taking careful note of our special requirements. He planned an enjoyable weekend that took us to some amazing locations! He patiently guided us through ever more challenging tracks and provided tips and insights on everything from camping to driving and wildlife! Bob's sincere and calm manner makes him a good tour leader and I would definitely book a trip with him again! Thank you Bob.

Booked the Yorkshire - Lake district Explorer, never been before and i had such a good time with some amazing views! Bob is the man! He knows his stuff! Will be booking another trip soon 100%

Bob does a cracking job we ( Phill and me ) have just finished south Wales it was class great lanes great laugh and some class people. Oh and Bobs truck is a beast of a truck its mint.
