Heres something that is out of the ordinary which i have been asked to fix - a Fluke85 Multimeter.
It was a nice easy fix, one of the internal fuses had blown. A 10 amp one!!!
I do hope that no one was hurt.

Sometimes its much more than 'just' a repair.
A chap brought me a faulty hard drive which contained precious pictures of his family, some of whom had sadly passed on. Not being technical he didnt have a backup and the disk had been to a couple of other places with no success :-(
Luckily i was able to perform a forensic recovery on his disk - and we got every single one of his pictures back before the disk finally packed in for good! :-)
... Lesson learned - take regular backups. Even if you only use something like Onedrive or Google Drive - do it now!
You dont realise how important your pictures are, until thats all you have left.

Believe it or not - water isnt the worst thing that you can spill on a laptop. Normally, anything with a lot of sugar in it can be fatal such as Coca Cola or Champagne

Here we have a dead Toshiba laptop. It looks like the motherboard has gone - the multimeter tells me that it has a dead short to ground.
So ive pulled the motherboard out - and have burned my hand on the mosfets. Ouch :-)

Are you having problems with Windows updates not installing?
Try this running this simple little program from a command prompt which i wrote - run it in a batch file as an administrator and you'll be golden.
net stop wuauserv... rd C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution /s net start wuauserv gpupdate /force wuauclt /reportnow wuauclt /detectnow

After contacting Mike for advice regarding the issues I was having with my laptop he not only gave me advice via messages, he then collected my laptop, give it a complete once over and told me exactly what was wrong with it, with a breakdown of all costs that would be incurred for the repairs. I needed a new screen, had bugs and viruses and had outdated windows. Mike repaired it all within a matter of a few days for a fantastic price, updating as he went. Repaired laptop was returned and faultless, Mike also followed up checking everything was running smoothly. He was extremely professional and very approachable, not getting frustrated with my numerous questions � my sons laptop also needed updating and Mike did this for free due to my son’s ongoing illness and him using it when he’s in hospital having treatment.
