The Confederation of Meningitis Organisations (CoMO) is dedicated to preventing meningitis worldwide because we can and we should. CoMO is commited to ensuring families worldwide have access to preventative measures and speedy treatment.

Confederation Of Meningitis Organisations (Como) Description

Through its membership, CoMO unites patient groups and child health organisations across the world who are working to eliminate meningitis in their country and region and who provide support to those touched by the disease.

CoMO now has 39 member organisation in 26 countries around the globe and across its three regions - The America's, Asia Pacific and Europe Africa, helping members to be united globally and regionally enabled in the fight against meningitis.

A British woman who lost her son to meningitis during his first few weeks at university has asked parents to make sure that their child has received a Men ACWY vaccine before attending university.

After a recent series of cases of meningococcal disease in children under five, health authorities in Western Australia are urging parents to take advantage of a free vaccine program that ends in three months.
So far this year, 12 children under five have been admitted to hospital with meningococcal disease, compared with 14 for all of last year.

Lynn was an incredible woman who dedicated her life to fighting meningitis.
“Lynn was passionate about NMA’s mission to protect our children through meningococcal and other vaccines,” said Leslie Maier, Secretary/Treasurer of NMA. According to NMA Director Lori Buher, “Lynn worked tirelessly for NMA until just weeks before her death. She left NMA in a strong place and our Board and national network of advocates will continue to advance NMA and its mission in Lynn’s memory.”

This week is Meningitis Awareness Week in the UK, which is run by Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF).
Today, MRF have released a new report which highlights that around half (49%) of children who have meningitis are sent home after their first visit to a GP and not admitted to hospital.
