Did you know plastic bags were invented to save our trees?⁠ I have talked at length about our need to carry our own bags. But it is gutting to see so many single-use containers being used each day.⁠ We need our Trees, and that is where the vast majority of your paper bags are coming from. Would the knowledge that they are 300% more energy to produce then single-use plastic change your mind?⁠ ⁠ I may be wrong for some people, but I think its the fact we still get given them as... a matter of course and we don't question this as we might do for plastic!⁠ ⁠ The small charges for bags are such a tiny punitive measure that they, on the whole, haven't made the more significant difference in real terms that we need.⁠ ⁠ This emphasis on shops being responsible for packaging up our goods has led us to carry on not carrying our bags as a daily habit. The system facilitates us to be lazy and forgetful, but we are responsible for making our societies and rules.⁠ And no matter how stringent your recycling is, the sheer fact of the matter is reduction is the only real way not to make a significant impact.⁠ ⁠ How many bags have you used this week? ⁠ ⁠ An honest answer in the comments and I will respect you for showing you have read this, and maybe I have given you food for thought! What do you think? ⁠we really do want to know... ⁠ I'm off to go do some printing of new T-shirts, new colours, new designs? We are trying to keep it fresh for you. ⁠ Heres an idea I've been playing with and I wanted to know if it's something you'd be interested in: have you ever wanted to have one of our designs in specific colours, styles and garment types? 🙄... If we were able to produce batches to order with art we make, we could possibly make special and unique items for you specifically if it was the image we were about to produce anyway. We'd have to limit the options so you don't accidentally make something shit or something that doesn't work. But would this idea of placement and style options be of interest to you? We recently made some unique options for @echo_dek_ a shop in Finland, where you'll be able to pick up completely unique colours and styles that exist know where else in the world, this is something we really would love to do more of!

So we all know the deal. Plastic is bad, our throw-away culture, and fast fashion attitudes are contributing to polluting and warming up our planet. We know we should be recycling more, most importantly though we should be reducing our use of resources and when possible reusing more of our things before we put into landfills or to be recycled willy nilly.⁠ ⁠ Sometimes people might feel like washing out your food packaging like jars, or flattening our cartons and separating t...he non-recyclable film with the recyclable plastic tray might be extra, but on a domestic level, we should all get into the habit of recycling and understanding what is possible and what should just be straight up avoided. ⁠ ⁠ Why? Well did you know around 95% less energy is used to make products from recycled materials than using raw materials!⁠ ⁠ The UK generated 222.9 million tonnes of total waste in 2016 (which I know is four years ago but that's what I got), with England responsible for 85% of the UK total⁠ ⁠ If everyone in the UK recycled 10% more paper, we could save 5 million trees a year⁠ ⁠ 275,000 tonnes of plastic are used each year in the UK (around 15 million plastic bottles per day)⁠ ⁠ Plastic when left to its own devices can take up to 500 years to fully decompose⁠ ⁠ Plastic bags, bottles, and packaging that end up in oceans kill 1 million sea creatures every year.⁠ ⁠ If all cans in the UK were recycled we could get rid of 14 million dustbins⁠ ⁠ 5 out of every 6 glass bottles are thrown away, glass is 100% recyclable... if left in landfills it takes 1 Millian years.⁠ ⁠ When a tonne of paper is recycled, 17 trees are saved⁠ ⁠ Aluminium cans can be recycled and ready to use again in around 6 weeks or it takes 80 years to decompose.

This piggy is now a UNISEX tee style!⁠ ⁠ We loved this dip dye red colour when we first printed our x-ray piggy on a women's roll sleeve in this colour. So we've done it again but now in a unisex shape! ⁠ ⁠ Unlike our other colour T-shirts, the dip dye red means that the colour has a soft tothe touch texture as they have been hand-dyed in batches then stone washed. Throwback friday - 3 skull was originally part of our postcard series. We played around with adding some watercolour to designs and made ltd edition postcard series. We did this for a celebration of our fifth birthday, all illustrated by our classic pencil Wiz Tomoya Hiramatsu. ⁠and now we have had fun animating some of them 💀💀💀 ⁠ These three skulls are having the laugh of their... life? Need a smoke break?⁠ this is a fun little edit of our most popular postcard we used to do! Who remembers it? ⁠ That Monday vibe hits hard as we go back into work. We are all shaking off the Christmas debts, now the New Year festivities and fun are a hazy memory.⁠ what's to look forward to but a cold wind in the face when you leave your shelter? Bleek 😔 ⁠... This sketch is the original of our smoking skull print. Tomoya is an ex smoker and it can be a running theme though a lot of our skeleton designs. Our designs mostly start off as pencil sketches, sometimes we make more edits and change the initial ideas to suit the content or printing teqniques. In this case, this sketch by Tomoya just needed to be cleaned up and prepped for silk-screen printing and each print comes out with all those gorgeous textures and subtleties of the tones!⁠ In this post we animated the smoke for social media fun, unfortunately we can't do that on garments!
